As I mentioned before, I don't believe QC has anything to do with size - it's motivation to do it right. A screwup which results in a certain percentage hit on the bottom line, will impact the company similiarly whether the bottom line is great or small

    I agree with you.

We call them roaches, in Georgia

Floridians and Becca call them Palmetto bugs.

Down here on the Texas coast, and even central Texas (maybe all of Texas) we call those monster flying roaches WATER BUGS.   I don't know the reason, maybe because they seem to be out in full force after a lot of rain, but I always figured it was because it sounds much better to say
I killed 10 water bugs in my livingroom lat night" than to say "I killed 10 roaches in my livingroom last night.  And they do LOVE to live in the old dead hanging palm tree fronds that make a great home.nest for them.

The thought of ten of them has given me enough of the creeps to not worry about what they're called.

    YUCK!!!!

That's the one thing I won't let my dogs kill.

The first time we stayed in the old house on Tybee,,,there was a hurricane coming in on the first or second night we were there,,,,believe me,,,even with all the wind and howling,,, I stayed awake worrying that the cockroaches were going to crawl on the bed......Oh it was horrible.  In the end the people that owned the home said they had to get new exterminators,,,and they did and after that we only saw about 5 of them the whole week instead of 5 a night!  YUK!!!

Yeah, they're called roaches and/or flying roaches if they fly in the air (even more digusting).

Oh, wow!  That gave me the creeps, Dyan!  Worrying about them getting in bed with you -- that would have kept me awake, too!  Eeek!  Sorry you went through that ...

Oh, my friends (and DH) find me very amusing when we are down there, I walk in every room (and there are tons of them) and make tons of noise first to make them run.  And they are always trying (trying????) to scare the heck out of me. I plug every hole up I can find with toilet paper,, and keep as many lights on as I can.

Thanks for asking about Jax.  He just turned 9 and is doing fairly well.  I wish I could solve this nose problem though.  The zinc repaired his skin-fur and paws very well.  But his poor nose goes thru this cycle.  It crusts up and really becomes all scaly and then it falls off- if he doesn't rub it off.  Then it bleeds and is very sore and cracked.  Then it starts over yet again.  It looks bad!  I keep vasoline on it of course per vets instructions but it doesn't really do much for him.  Other than that he is hanging in there.  Thanks for asking about him.

That same thing happened to my Dane/Shepherd Cindys nose. I used to put vasoline on it all the time also, don't know that I ever thouht that it helped either.

Maybe something more absorbable, like coconut oil (which is a solid) would help him, more? Vasoline is petroleum based, and likely doesn't do much to help him.

Of course, he may lick off the coconut oil. I dunno if that would be a problem or not (I know that, like my girl, he's on a pretty strict diet).

I'm glad to hear that he's doing well.

Has he been tested for pemphigus or discoid lupus?
