• Home Cooked Meals? toby dude Posted : 6/30/2006 9:51:46 AM How many of you folks home cook for your dogs??  Toby is currently eating home cooked meals. He's never been a big kibble fan (but does enjoy some every now and then) We've already gone through Innova Evo, NRG, Go Natural! and now Canidae. I just ordered a book called, "Throw Me a Bone : 50 Healthy, Canine Taste-Tested Recipes for Snacks, Meals, and Treats"  It should arrive on my doorstep by next week.   Anyone else have recipe books for their dogs? Any suggestions? My dogs eat almost exclusively home cooked. • glenmar Posted : 7/2/2006 5:55:58 AM Powdering the egg shell makes the calcium more readily available to the dogs.  Considering some of the other stuff dogs swallow, I doubt that a little piece of egg shell would really hurt, but if you are using eggshell for a calcium supplement it's just easier for their bodies to USE the calcium if they don't have to break it down first.  Do you really HAVE to?  Honestly, I don't know.  Both Mordanna and my overpriced canine nutritionalist told me to powder the eggshells, so that's what I do. 0 LIKE Like Share You have posted to a forum that requires a moderator to approve posts before they are publicly available.
