that is exactly what kenny gets every morning. a little squirt of peanut butter and he is one happy camper. you will notice a difference after a while. kenny's coat is such much shinier and softer than my parents cocker. i can really tell the difference. plus with PB on it, he htinks he is getting a treat!

Yeah I've already noticed the dandruff is gone. [:)] What's weird is with Spot he'll just take the Fish Oils straight, and I let him chew them if he wants, but even with the Vitamin E's he'll take them like treats, lol.

Hi Audcal...That just seems like an awful lot of Vitamin E 1000iu for a 60lb dog...If I were you.. I think I might check into that a bit more...I know Vitamin E is stored in the fat
and can cause an overdose.. I think I would use the 400iu or give your vet a call and ask.. Just to be on the safe side

OK, maybe I'll get the 400 iu's.....do you think 1 or 2 a day? I just thought it would be alright for the 1000 iu since someone said you can't really overdose on E.

Audkal...I would only give one 400iu a day.. you are also using the synthetic E...DL you should look for the one that says D it's more expensive but its the natural form and much better for the dog..

    From Mordanna on her board:

It takes a lot more vitamin E to reach a toxic level than for example A or D, and even three times that amount would not be toxic to your dog.

The oral median lethal dose (the amount where half the test subjects died from an overdose) found in several species of animals is 2 grams per kilogram of body weight, or roughly 1,360 IU per pound of body weight. In a 75 pound dog that would be 102,000 IU.

The general dose is 100 IU/25 lbs of body weight.

Cool thanks for pointing that out 'cause I can't tell what's synthetic or what's not, most of the time....So look for one that says:

    d-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate instead of
    dl-Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate

    ?

Also, do you see anything in my Fish Oils that look bad/synthetic? Thanks.

Edit: Thanks sooner for that info. [:)]
