Now i'm the first to admit that i think Abady is the pied piper and the feeders of his foods are his blind little followers. The man has made himself into a cult like status, and judging by ALL the abady feeders i have met they worship everything he says with unbridled unquestionable devotion and almost worship.

Howeeever dont you think all this energy everyone is giving to Abady would be better directed at the  Purina,ol roy, beneful et al feeders? I'de say they are doing alot more damage to their dogs health than the people who feed abady [&o]

Purina feeders, such as myself have been bashed plenty enough.  And even tho my dogs eat purina one they are in great health according to my vet.  And from some posts I have read, they have less health issues than some here on premium food.

It all depends on the dog, what works for them. And Purina works for mine.

If he uses chicken by-products than what's the difference in the chicken by-products that he uses compared to the chicken by-products Purina uses?

    Exactly. There is no difference.

How can the brands that claim to use all human-grade and/or organic ingredients cost so much less than a brand that is composed of by-products and corn?

Hey Raven, there is a difference in the CBPM than the rest, it is called 3 times as much.  No more corn Raven, long gone and dealt with in the Abady response.  I quote:

Today, corn has been genetically engineered and is the cause of many allergies.  As a result, corn has been replaced in the toy formula with white rice.  White rice is superior to brown rice because while allergic reactions to brown rice do occur because of its gluten content, this does not seem to be the case with white rice.

Corn is not only out of the toy formula as mentioned in the above quote, it is also gone from Classic and Maintenance and stress.  I assume it is also out of the Basic Maintenance and Bottom Line Maintenance.

NYC Petsupply is back up and the have what appears to be the entire lineup of Granular feeds.  There is no feed I can see at 135 for 35-pounds.

People seem to forget, when you feed Abady, things like supplements and even medications are no longer needed.  You can forget about the added expense of that stuff (and the Vet bills)....no longer needed...not even a Twinkie.

As someone completely unbiased (and I am, I couldn't purchase Abady even if I wanted to, I don't live in North America) I have to say that whatever else has been said, I cannot believe this claim. There isn't a single dog food in the world which will prevent ALL dogs from needing ANY medications ALL of the time. If this claim is believed by even the majority of Abady feeders, his marketing person needs a raise.

    Azul,
Make sure you're careful and don't slip up an talk about things like the secret handshake.  The last box I had opened had a pamphlet with good tip on how to complete the part II of the secret handshake.  It mentioned bring the left hand over as a cover or shield so prying eyes can't observe.

They ship world wide.  The even have a Singapore connection.  However, I'm sure Abady can't compete with Burns or James Well Beloved because you folks do everything so much better than we do here in the States.  Try that stuff called 'Bakers' by Purina...I here it is really good stuff.

Excuse me? That sarcasm wasn't warranted. You have no idea what I feed, and I never said we do things better here.

Edited to add: If you disagree with my point of view, that is your perogative, but the attack was unnecessary, TOTALLY uncalled for and doesn't help your cause a single bit.

Didn't have time to look this up last night, but the gluten content of brown rice is just not true as substantiated by this article.

I certainly don't think that I'm a "blind little follower" and who I worship is certainly not Robert Abady.  I like him very much but I don't worship him and I never said I believe "everything" he says.  I have found a food that works well for my dogs made by a company that give me great service.  The most important thing is that we all find a food that works for our dogs...isn't it?

I know MANY people who feed Purina and they are quite happy with it.  A lot feed the Salmon formula and really seem to like it and some others that I know feed the regular chicken ProPlan and some the One.  There is nothing wrong with someone feeding Purina or any food for that matter.  If it works for their dog and fits into their budget why is it wrong?  I even know someone with Rotties that feeds the one Walmart brand (Maxim?) the dogs look great, the people are happy with the results and comfortable with the food.  To each their own.

Some people do get a little crazy about the food that they use, not just Abady people.  I just don't understand why food is always such a debate.  Just because I like Abady and someone else likes Purina doesn't make either of us wrong...just different dogs and opinions.  This should be something for everyone to learn from, not a fight.

    aaahhh!
I cannot believe the lengths at which those who feed a certain food go to to support and defend the food they feed. Look at this thread!! It's FULL of insults. Insults over DOG FOOD. No, it may not be THAT black and white, but if you peel away all the "brown rice vs. white rice" or "your dog needs more exercise" SNIDE REMARKS and/or IMPLICATIONS (which also COMPLETELY uncalled for, IMO.) then it sure IS that black and white.
Why is it that people are NOT allowed to question a dog food or a company without it quickly leading to insultville around here? And I'm talking insults on both the pros and the cons side of the argument.

I feed Timberwolf Organics and people are CONSTANTLY insulting the company and questioning their ingredients and their ethics. Even I, myself, did at one point.
But the fact is is that my dog does very well on this food. In fact, better than on anything else I've tried. Have I tried them all? NOPE. Because I've found what works.

Some people can very nasty. VERY. And I know we're all guilty of it at some point, but COME ON. We're ALL here because we love OUR DOGS.
