    Abady Response To The Critics

A letter was written and responded to and dealt with negative postings on various websites.  Robert Abady responds to all the gunslinger self proclaimed critics.  He also answers some questions, like what happened to the corn, where does the meat from, LARD, etc.  I hope you all find it enjoyable reading.

Thank you for posting the ingredients of their regular kibble. I wouldn't use it but am glad your dogs are healthy and happy with Abady products.

While that is very entertaining propaganda, there is nothing there that would convince me to feed Abady. In fact, there are several things that convinced me even more that it#%92s a company to stay far away from. Some of the claims they make are quite comical though.

I too am glad your dogs are doing well. Most of us believe strongly in the foods that work for our dogs and that's at least one thing we have in common.

I would be interested in seeing documentation about the cats that lived to be 31 and 32.

    Interesting letters! [:)]

I had to laugh for a minute because the rateitall.com user "jlphilli" that discredited the abady food is actually the sole person I have learned the most from about dog food.  I also actually found idog after she had it as a link on one of her webpages.  I have rated plenty of foods myself on rateitall.com.

Abady is not a quality food for many of the reasons jlphilli states.

Well, I think the guy is doing what all manufactures say, what all critics say.  A don't agree with B, C don't agree with A, B don't agree with A or C.  Who is right?  I think everyone believes the one/ones they want to believe and think the others are wrong....or at least most of the others are wrong.

What turns me off about this company, is that they make it so hard to find what is actually in the food. Why were the ingredients taken off from the Waggin Tails website? I think that is a red flag of some sort. I don't care how great a food is, I think as consumers, most of us would like to know what is in the food before buying it, that alone is worrisome to me. I also don't like the propaganda form this company. Maybe this food is good, maybe not, I don't know anyone myself who has ever fed it. For reasons stated above, there are so many wonderful foods I know my Pugs do great on, I would never feel comfortable with Abady. I would also not feel comfortable ever recomending this food to any of my clients.

I thought that was funny too shelly :)  papillon806 you really ruffeled some feathers at Abady.  Bet you didn't know you had that much power jana ha ha!

To me the underlying gut feeling I get from this company isn't good and the letter doesn't help.   If you don't want to look shady then don't act shady.  I appreciate their response to their customers, but why can't they just do what we have been asking and post what's in the bag so we can draw our own conculsions?  It's almost like he believes that we are too dumb to understand so he will just tell us instead.  I'm sure that's not what he is meaning to portray, but that's the way it looks to me.  I mean come on, it's just dog food right?

Are you saying papillion806 is jlphilli? She is the gunslinger?  Too funny!

Keep knocking Lard people, go right ahead...it is the most expensive fat to purchase.  All dogs need fat in the diet, it is an essential. It has the longest chain of fatty acids available and the the most practical for the dogs body to utilize.  It is human grade with no preservatives.  It's all about nutrition and what is best for your dogs overall health.

Just dog food???? JUST DOG FOOD????  That is the attitude of the folks buying Old Roy from Wally World.

But if people are going to spend THAT much money b/c they are obsessed with dog food, why not just do homecooked and provide truly human grade food?

Too true! if I could afford it I would be out buying organic fresh foods and free range livestock for my dogs.  Then you "know" exactly what is going into their bowls!  right on Liesje![:D]

I think I read that almost word for word in the Abady response.

Lets remember that we all have our own opinions and harshness won't change those opinions.

On a personal level, that lard crack, just ticks me off.  The condescending tone bugs the snot out of me.  Yep, the very best pie crust in the world was made with LARD, but when humans ate that way, humans died very young.  Go wander through a graveyard and see just what the average age at death was when folks ate lard and high fats on a regular basis.

Yes, dogs have different nutritional needs than humans, and they certainly metabolize things differently, but seems this food goes to extremes here.

If this food is not for every dog and is indeed only for high performance dogs, gosh, why are we discussing it?  With a few exceptions, most of us don't HAVE high performance dogs......

That's how I feel as well.  I couldn't imagine feeding my dogs lard!! yuck!!!

Fresh lard is not shelf stable, and it does need to be stored under refrigeration. Most commercial lard is stabilized, often through hydrogenation, which means that it can contain harmful trans fats. Heavily processed lard may contain harmful compounds

So basically for lard where it does not have a shelf life at all....how is abady dog foods created and stored...is it a frozen food? if not then they have to put it through the hydrogenation process and it would contain harmful compounds to have any sort of shelf life.  No thanks, not for my dogs.

Abady seems to talk down to people, I did not get a good impression at all from the links provided of responses from Mr Abady.  He doesn't give off  a professional manner at least to me.  He seems to get whiny, would I want a spiteful person who slings insults and talks down to others preparing my dogs food every day...no way!!!  I don't care what other people feed their dogs (although it does bother me that people are encouraging the use of toxins, coloring agents, BHT/BHA etc by buying cheap food that will go right back into our environment[&o]).

I like a dog food company that is more into rotation and variety.  Of course bottom line they are all out to make money, just some of them seem to really care and not be condesending to people.
