I quit feeding Canidae canned due to being manufactured by Menu foods
Ok now I am confused.. I thought Canidae was manufactured by Evangers
Cazzy--
It is my understanding that Canidae does NOT use Menu for any manufacturing. I have also heard that Evanger's manufactures their canned goods, though I have not had it confirmed.
Guys, I hate to say this and you can ream me all you want for this...but it really doesn't matter if Menu makes the food or not. As we've all seen it's not just menu. Alpo is not made by Menu and still had bad wheat gluten in it. It's up to the manufacturer if they want to buy cheap ingredients from China or spend more on American grown and processed ingredients. Menu just does what the manufacturer tells them to do. Eagle Pack, Nature's Variety, Nature's Logic, Wellness, and I'm sure many, many more canned foods are canned by Menu. These premium companies I just mentioned do not allow Menu to choose the source of their ingredients for them. Many of them actually send the ingredients they choose for their canned food in bags by the truck load to Menu, and Menu mixes it together and cans it. That's all, they just can it. Other manfacturers, tell Menu what ingredients they want in the food, Menu finds the ingredients and puts it in. And, honestly, if a company doesn't care that someone else is choosing the source of their ingredients then that's their fault. I'm sure those companies also wanted Menu to buy the cheapest source of those ingredients.
I have been told by Nature's Logic and Eagle Pack that it is really not Menu's fault. They were told by cheap companies to buy cheap ingredients. They did not know that it was contaminated, after all they had been buying ingredients for that Chinese source for years.
