    Ella just threw up/Dakota Bison

OK...so I just bought a small bag of Timberwolf's Dakota Bison and it was time for Ella to eat. I put in an 1/8 cup of Dakota Bison in with a 1/2 cup of her usual Ocean Blue and then I put in the appropriate amount of Prozyme.

It's been over 2 hours since she ate and we were just in the garage and she threw up.
It was mostly liquid with 2 pieces of kibble in it.

Think the food is a no-go?

She doesn't normally throw up and I especially wouldn't think she'd have any issues since I added the Prozyme.

It honestly just sounds like one of those "dog things."  Sometimes they will throw up for no reason at all....really no explanation (sometimes just a inexplicable tummy ache).  If you feed her tonight and she does the same, or if she's acting sick as the day goes on...then I would say something may be wrong. [:)]

Something as in "needs to go to the vet" wrong, or just "the food is just not going to work for her" wrong?

Well, I would say it depends on how she is acting overall.  If she throws up again but is acting normal, I would say it's possibly the food.  If she throws up again and is acting lethargic or just not "right" to you, then that would deserve vet attention (IMO). [:)]

She's acting normal for now. She's playing, so I'm not going to worry unless she starts acting all lethargic.

I can't for the life of me think of what could be in the food that would upset her tummy. Unless it's just the bison.
Weird, the only thing that has ever made her vomit was when she was on cephalexin (spelling?) in August.

I agree.  If she throws up but seems otherwise normal, i would suspect the food.  If she throws up and doesn't act quite right, vet time.

Oh, and just to let you guys know, NO, Ella didn't get into anything. She doesn't eat anything but food, and there isn't any food on my floors nor was there any in my garage.

She has been sneezing some lately and my vet DID say to keep her on Benedryl, but she hasn't been sneezing today, so I thought I'd give her a break from it. But is it possible that if her allergies are acting up (even though she isn't sneezing) that that could have possibly made her vomit?

that could have possibly made her vomit?

    Yes, certainly.

If it was the food, I would think there would be more food in the vomit than two pieces of kibble.

Dogs seem to have hair trigger barfo mechanisms. One puke here and there and I actually don't even blink. If they chuck it more than once or twice in about a 12 hour period I start to get concerned, but just an isolated incident I don't worry too much about - as long as they're otherwise acting normally. Nothing quite wakes me in the middle of the night like liquid hitting the floor... or the urp noise. [sm=rofl.gif]

The other night, I was watching TV, and eating a carrot. Emma hopped up in my lap, to ask if I'd share. I held the carrot out, for her to take, and she barfed down the front of my shirt.

I decided she must not have wanted my carrot[:D] Sometimes, they just barf. I don't worry about it.

If she keeps throwing up, but acting normal, then I'll probably stop the food. I doubt it's the food, and I'm leaning more towards allergies, IF it's anything at all. Thanks![:D]

Oh, come on, *I* laughed!!![:D] What else can you do? LOL

Boomer NEVER pukes. Never. Not in almost two years, since he was 3 months old. He puked they other day and I freaked. Of course he was just fine, it was me that almost had to go to the hospital [8|]

It may be just one of those things, or it may be the food, hope you get it figured out!!
