Need help ASAP

wait. Your vet made you feel BAD for bringing your dog in????
And told you bloodwork was unnecessary???
    Wow.

I'm sick of medical people talking to patients like they're crap. It's your vet's job to take care of your pet, it's not his/her job to make you feel bad for bringing in your pet.

I'm glad that bloodwork came back normal![:D]

I know but the bloodowork they did was not to see if her kidneys were fine from the recalled food, he just did a blood panel, but he said it would not have showed up because the bloodwork does not check for that.

She is acting more normal today. She is playing likle crazy, but I think I'm going to go to another vet to get the bloodwork just in case she is sick from the recalled foods. I just want to be safe and make sure, I would rather not have to worry.

There are 2 vets at the clinic one is very good, and one is not that good, and is very closed minded and just is not that nice. I was hoping we would get the women one( the one that Raja usually sees and likes) but theman was only on, so we had to see him.

Thank God Rickey takes payments from people he trusts and knows will pay.  I will go in and the visit may be $48 total and i will write the check for $75 which gives me a credit.  Then i will go in and get heartworm meds, and write the check for more, etc.  THEN we hvae blood work done and it doesn't take such a hit out of the bank account because i use the credit,

Sometimes i just write out a check and take and it doesn't cover the expenses for that day...no problem, they  bill me later.  in fact, they always ask if i want to be billed.  I have owned as much as $2300 when hunter was in the hospital, and have had as much as $200 in credit.  Seems I never hvae a ) balance, but either have credit or own.

But at any rate i sure hope Raja gets to feeling better, and I think that vet needs to rethink his line of thinking if he wants to make clients feel bad/stupid for being their much loved pets in.

Anyways....the vet said nothing can be found and to to wait another few days and give her Tums so see if that will seettle it. The did bloodwork and everything came back normal. So that's really good.

Glad Raja is feeling better....you could also try a little chicken and rice to calm her tummy...I sure wish dogs could talk and tell us what hurts..LOL ..anyways pleasr keep us updated

I'm so glad Raja is feeling better! I wouldn't worry too much about her eating the recalled food. Sounds like she didn't have very much and it also seems that it is affecting small dogs and cats much worse than larger dogs like Raja.

Why my pups tummies are hurting - partcularly with Blackhawk's colitis - fasting for 24 hours followed by a bland diet of chicken or hamburger and rice for a few days would usully clear things right up. Fasting can really help because it gives an irritated tummy some time to heal.

Raja has all of the sudden started caughing really bad and she will not eat. She started caughing and now sounds flemmy. I am taking her to another vet right away, since her normal vet wouldn't do anything and send us away with Tums.

I'll let you guys know what is going on when we are back.

That sounds like it may be heartworm related. I hope you are able to get some answers, and that Raja gets to feeling better soon.

I was thinking the same thing.  I can't remember what treatment you ended up going with for Raja's heartworm.  Could the upset tummy be side affects from that? I hope you're able to get some answers from the vet this time.

Poor Raja; I hope this vet is able to find out what the problem is and that it's not serious.

Well yup you guys are right turns out it is either HW realated or the tained food realated. We did another panel of bloodwork that will be in tommarow so know for sure which one it is. Our normal vet doesn't take checks and also I found out they also so do not take the Care Credit Card. So we are going to another vet we were recommended too that will make a payment plan and/or Care Credit Card.

For now we just have to wait till tomamrow for the results. Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and wishes. They told us to just keep her very calm and quiet until we know any more info

Edited: I just called and did get approved for the Care Credit Card the limit is pretty low but I'm hoping it will be enough for whatever turns out to be the treatment she needs

It's a shame you've had to go to so many vets; you're a super dog mom. I'll be sending Raja healing vibes and praying for a full recovery.
