Whether or not you like the smell of fish, you would be able to tell if it smells fishy. I can't get Orijen locally and to order without shipping charges, I have to buy a large bag. They seem to like it, although my Shih tzu likes it better than my Lhasa. I have had to hand feed it to my Lhasa lately or the little one eats it. I also feed toppers with it though (salmon, beef, tuna, ground turkey, steak, chicken, etc.) so I figure, if she doesn't eat the kibble I'm not going to freak out.
