Timberwolf Organics - Problems

    But the difference here is animals have DIED and people just want to know for sure there isn't a chance their food could have come from the same plant/plants where the tainted food came from.

    If there were people dying from, say oranges, that came from a certain state, wouldn't you want to know that the oranges in your ice box didn't come from that state?  Nobody is asking for the make up of the food or how it is made....they just want to know WHERE it is made and I don't think that should be a secret.  After all, we could be talking life or death here....not likely, but still the possibilty sticks in one's mind.

    I understand that Sandra.  Really, I do.  But a company has to determine what information they are willing to share and what information they are not willing to share.  TWO, apparently, has determined it is in their best interest not to share this information.  Your only choice, as I see it, is to either accept that or to buy food from another company.  Frankly, I see no point in continuing to beat this drum.  TWO ain't gonna tell you and that is their right.

    people seem to think companies should share what they consider to be trade secrets or proprietary information, but I wish them luck finding a company who will

    When it comes to this particular question, there are only a couple of companies that won't share. I think knowing where every competitor comes from is contributing to the unease with the ones that won't tell.

    Very true.

    I totally agree with that too.  TWO saying they are not affected by the recall and TWO being a food that works for my sorry mutt is good enough for me to continue to use it.

    BTW, how the hell do you know when you should use "effect" or when you should use "affect"?  I have never understood.  Who and whom is confusing to me too.

    Effect = result, outcome, consequence

    Affect = influence, involve, change

    Thanks Kelly, but is there an easy way to remember that?  You know, like remembering planet order by "Mary Veal Eats Messy Jam Sandwiches Under Nancy's Porch?"  Or star color temperatures, I think it was, by, "Oh Be a Fine Girl Kiss Me."

    LOL.  What this has to do with TWO I am not sure and I apologize for the diversion.  I am sure we can expect closure of the thread to be imminent.  :)

    ME TOO!  I just which every one comes off the end of my figners!  I do think you would say like 'The movie had great special effects that made the dinosaur look so real" and then "How would seeing such a movie affect your child."  But still, when i get to typing, i don't really think about it much (believe it or not i made A's in high school and college English).  But the WHO and WHOM always gets me.

    Agreed.  I signed a nondisclosure agreement with the company I work for, it's fairly common.

    Maybe I just a neglectful dog owner, but honestly I wouldn't think anything of it if the kibble I fed was a different size.  I would just figure they were trying a new size kibble.  Heck, I might not even notice if the kibble was a different size unless it was a HUGE change.

    LMAO.  That makes two of us, Christina.

    Hello there, the ogre here.....[8D]

    Now why would I close the thread?  You're basically staying ON topic with just a few little diversions, so no problem there....no mud slinging, no name calling, no nastiness or snarky comments.  I'm a happy camper.

    TWO does not make any "cuts and gravy" type foods and those are the only foods affected by the recall.  They therefore are not involved in the recall in any way, and disclosing proprietary information about another company that they are contracted with and have a confidentiality agreement is not going to change anything expect subject them to possible legal action from their contractor.  Just because they are not giving out the information does not mean they are being secretive or have something bad to hide.  It is an extremely competitive market out there for the pet food business so I completely understand why confidentiality is important, especially for smaller companies that are trying to get a decent share of the consumers.

    When the spinach recall came about, was everyone calling up every company that produces lettuce and string beans and radishes and demanding to know where their products were packaged?

    If there are any produce forums out there, I'm sure there was.  [;)]

    Apples and oranges littlesaint.  For me at least I could still buy LOCAL produce which is my primary source during the growing season. Locally grown spinach wasn't included in the recall. So no, I didn't worry about it, BUT, I can also avoid those products for the short term.  I can eat OTHER veggies if need be, and I guess that folks are trying to source different FOODS without feeling the need to be worried about the life and death of their dogs.
    • Gold Top Dog
    Right, but the point is that TWO doesn't make the type of food that was recalled, nor does it use wheat or wheat gluten in it's ingredients.  So why should people start boycotting them because they will not give out confidential information when there is nothing about their product that has anything to do with the recall?  I don't even feed TWO, it just doesn't make any sense to me.  That's why I used the spinach/vegatable analogy.  Just because spinach was recalled does not justify hysteria over all vegetables.

    Glenda, I guess this is kinda on topic, just curious which TWO formula you used before?
