Purina Pro Plan and Purina Pro Plan Natural Selects?

Actually with the Sensitive System foods, I had better luck with the One than the Pro Plan, but I had the best results with the Selects, although all 3 worked well.

but there are no by-products in the food.

But what about the 4th ingredient which clearly states poultry byproduct meal.

Sorry I don't get on much with work etc and the holidays taking so much time.  If I could clarify this a bit.  By products do not mean feathers, hoofs and beaks etc. in Pro Plan or One.  Its organ meat.  If you ask them they will tell you that.  It has to be listed as by product.  And yes ONE and Pro Plan do have very similar formula's.  I have been told that Pro Plan has more meat protein.  Also, Pro Plan has way more varieties to pick from.  Price is very similar.  Selects is very expensive compared to the others.  I am pleased to see quite a few people do like the food and I wish you all lived by me and I could have you visit me in the store and I could save you some money on those purchases.

for the pro plan ingredients, did you mean canola oil?

Well, I picked up the Pro Plan Sensitive for Harley.  He is almost completely changed over from the Purina One Chicken.  Stools have been normal.  No growly tummy as he had when he came with his bag of beneful.  He doesn't seem to itch and lick and bite himself that much anymore.  I will keep everyone posted as to his progress with this food.  So far I have seen some improvement.

No, the site lists "canola meal".

Pro Plan's version excludes corn gluten meal, adding canola meal (???)

Canola meal's nutrient profile is very similar to corn gluten meal. Both are good sources of amino acids and are very high in protien, which is good as long as it's not used to replace meat protein in the food.

Harley has been doing VERY well on Purina Pro Plan Sensitive System Salmon!  His coat is much nicer looking and soft and shiny, Stools are good and he eats it with enthusiasm.  Oh and his ears aren't smelly anymore!  So thumbs up to Purina Pro Plan with its results with Harley!

there's nothing edible or nutritious in there. Your dogs may lose weight, but at a serious blow to their long-term health-- being skinny due to malnutrition is not a healthy state. I can't believe people buy this garbage.
Far better to bulk up a meal of a good kibble with green beans or something.

    What a horrible food.....
