Purina Pro Plan and Purina Pro Plan Natural Selects?

Purina Pro Plan and Purina Pro Plan Natural Selects?  This question is to those who have tried or are thinking of trying the above listed foods.  I am not looking for another firestorm or big debate or slam dance to those who do feed purina by those who don't.  I am looking for the opinions of those who have had experience feeding either one or are thinking about trying it.  Please keep this topic on topic and not on another nutritional rant that these foods are bad.
TIA for those who are helpful and stick to topic!

Had our dogs on this food for about 2 months and they inhaled it.  They also put on a lot of weight despite eating small amounts and I switched b/cause they are seniors and I felt there was way too much protein and fat for a sr. food.  Puppy did great though on the puppy formula

I've never used either but I do know that lots of chow "people" use ProPlan for some reason.  And, I have a friend who shows her dogs who also feeds it.

I had looked at the Selects because it was a turkey food.  But, I can't use it because it contains other ingredients that she can't have.

April was on it for about 3-4 months, she just didn't seem to care for it that much, I switched to Innova Evo and she eats every bite of it.

My mini poodle Amy was on Pro Plan in the beginning, the regular kind, because that was what the breeder was feeding.  We continued to feed it to her for a while since she was doing well on it and no problems.  We recently switched to a combo of Natural Balance and Evo from the recommendation of the trainer in our obedience class and I've noticed her coat is a lot silkier now and her ;poops are smaller. I've never tried the selects though, maybe that would have worked better, but I won't be going back to the regular formula.

If I remember correctly, your little guy has digestive problems.  In that case I would try the original Pro Plan, not the selects, because the formula is more simple.  You may even want to try their sensitive stomach formula which is Salmon and Oatmeal (Pink and Black bag).

Pro Plan is fed by more champion breeders than any other dog food.  Last year it was something like, out of the top 100 AKC show dogs in the nation, 60% of them are being fed Pro Plan.  Euk was second, followed by Eagle Pack.  Probably because Pro Plan offers awesome breeder programs and produces pretty good results.

Thats what I was sorta thinking JoJo. BTW cute picture of JoJo and Santa!  Thanks everyone who has responded to this so far and I still would like others opinions as long as it is on the topic.  [;)]

I have never tried either one, tho in yesterday's mail I got my free sample of the Selects, which I will either try on Honey  or give away. I just switched them to the Purina One a few months ago and they all love it.  Buck, at almost 12 is to old for me to change food unless it is a "must", and KayCee had that severe reaction to her vax and i worry about changing things for her and this is to much of a change to suit me.   Mine are on Purina One, senior for Buck, Weight management for the girls.  however, I am on several golden retriever forums and the Pro Plan is used by many of the breeders.

Pro Plan also sponsors tons of shows!  Most of the shows I have gone to are sponsored by them.

Sandra, have the other people who have their dogs on pro plan pleased with it overall?

We just switched from Eagle Pack today. I actually tried to buy some ProPlan weight management formula this morning but they did not have it in stock. So I bought the Purina One Weight Management. I fed it to my girls this morning. They loved it, which was great because they have refused some kibble in the past. They both had normal stools today, so it seems to have agreed with them.

I couldn't really answer for them, just at various times we " talked" about what our dogs eat and they talked about ProPlan and i would assume if they weren't really pleased with results they wouldn't be feeding it   Thjey want healthy puppies, so Mom and Dad have to be healthy.   I think the most popular brands are the Purina and the Nuitro.  A couple do feed raw, some feed a little home cooked with dry, i know of one that feeds Timber Wolf, some feed EP, Solid Gold, etc. There are some on Iams and Eukanuba also.  Never see Ol Roy mentioned, nor store brands.

I just know if my dogs were not doing so well on what I was feeding them---be it Purina, TWO, Iams, EP, or store brand, I would be looking for something else  And i can tell you this, those golden people LOVE their dogs like you wouldn't believe.
