She kept going down to stare at the slow cooker....and prancing, galloping, running,,,etc etc etc around the house.

We need a video of Bubblegum acting like a silly, enormous puppy. Every picture makes her look so sophisticated[:D]

I LOVE the avatar.  Every time i look at it i get the idea Bubby has done something on the computer and is saying 'hey mom, come check this out'  or "hey Mom, what do you think of this.".

Hahah,,,,then I MUST take more pictures! Sandra,,,picture that face looking at the slow cooker of Chicken cooking,,,its quite the same,,,,,like "is it done yet?"

I have to say though, I just cut some apples up in it, and I took out one the big thigh bones and it did break right up,,, I let them out and then gave them to her. The rest is still cooking. Soon it will be done.   I put a little garlic powder in it but that was it except for veggies, apple and chicken thigh.  I will add some baby food sweet potatos in a bit because I just stopped at 2 stores and no one had any.

I also added ground turkey the last time, so was like 5 pounds of thighs and a pound of turkey, plus the frozen green beans, sweet potatos and apples.  I also added a little chipped garlic, but not much as i read a little is fine for them.   The apples, Gala apples were on sale for 88c a pound and i got a lot as I know they will last some time in the ref.  I have used pears also, when on sale, for cooking when i did it by the day.  I LOVE this way of doing enough to last several days.  I just heat up what i want each time.

I would think you could add any other kind of meat like liver, chicken hearts, ground beef, etc that you wanted to add.  Same with veggies that are safe for them.  Be sure to tell us if Bubby found the stew to her liking.

Well I didn't feed it to Bubby tonight yet. Mainly because I made a whole chicken for us...with stuffing and gave her the raw neck and heart that was packed away inside. AND then I gave her some of the bigger bones from the thighs....and I didn't want her to get too much stuff and end up getting sick on me.....so tomorrow she will have the chicken stuff.  So do we have a name for this???

I call it Chicken Stew of Chicken Soup.  It does remind me a little of a stew they make in NC called  Bruinswick (sp) Stew that has everhting except the kitchen sink in it.  It is because of the shredded chicken i guess.  The NC stew has pork, beef, chicken, multi veggies and it is out of this world.  I had it visitng my sister up there.  I have made it a couple of times, but you end up with enough to feed an army and an army i don't have now and there is stuff in it like corn my dogs can't have, so can't share it with them.

Why cant your dogs have corn Sandra? What about the whole grain corn, corn gluten meal and corn bran in purina one?

Gosh, another memo I didn't get regarding picking on every word out of Sandra's mouth or fingers as the case may be....I happen to use some corn in my homecooked now and again....but if I can't digestit, I don't expect the dogs to, so theirs is pre-processed.  Just MAYBE that's what Sandra meant, but for heaven sakes lets not just ask.....lets just attack, yet again.

Because it is WHOLE KERNEL corn, not GROUND CORN, and I have never seen chunks of cornbread or corn tortillas  in my toilet after I ate cornbread or corn tortillas,  but I have seen whole kernels of corn after eating corn on the cob or canned or frozen whole kernel corn.

Glenda please get over yourself! [8|]

I did NOT attack for goodness sakes! I asked a question, because i prefer not to make asumptions.Sandra said her dogs cant have corn, but there's corn in the dry food she feeds, now i'm curious.Where's the attack in that?
    • Gold Top Dog
Thanks for explaining Sandra [:)] It's just when you said your dogs CANT have corn,i thought you literally meant they CANT have corn.
    • Gold Top Dog
No.  I have always known Purina has corn in it and we have never had a problem with corn or any other grain.  I just know whole kernel corn is hard to digest and i didn't even let my kids have it til they were older--we always had creamed corn, which still had some kernels in it, but not as bad.  i won't let my dogs have whole kernel corn any more than i will let them have a cooked bone----except when cooked to to ground up looking state, as the corn is in their kibble.
