I actually have looked for dog jerseys (Tennessee football jerseys -- LOL! That way she can support the team!), but it's hard to find clothes in her size. If I find one, I'm getting it for her, regardless of how it looks.

    And those jammies were hilarious!

the greyhound jammies ARE REALLY FUNNY!! [sm=rofl.gif]
they are both gonna get the 4-legged ones but Pru is getting the pink ones with the monkeys (cuz she sis a silly monkey herself [;)])... and JJ is getting the frog ones [:D]   Poor doggies...I make them look silly but they gotta stay warm when we camp!

DO you have petsmart in your area??  I have found they have the BEST selection of clothes because they have many different sizes of clothes (it is HARD to fit a greyhound, but I got cute coats for my two from Petsmart).Petco in my area DOES have team shirts though....
      Does dog.com have anything??

Yeah, there are three Petsmarts here, I think.  I don't think they had anything I liked for here, but maybe they have new stuff by now.

    crockpotted lamb & apples...
I had to post this cuz I am so excited!  I just put my first lamb in eth crockpot for teh doggies.

The cut the majority of the fat off and cut away the bone (ended up with not much meat left[&o]) so then I browned the meat in a tiny bit of olive oil with also some of my salt free seasoning mix.  Once the meat was browned...i added in the apples slices and I browned those too and sprinkled on some nutmeg while I was browning the apples with the meat.   tehn I put it all in eth crockpot with some water and my house smells incredible...the animals are all begging for food (even Barnaby came downstairs to see what I was making).

We shall see tomorrow how it turned out and how the poop is.

    Speaking of poop....POOP REPORT!!!

I am sad to say that one 80-90% ocean, the poop isn't good at all. 1/2 of it has been total pudding for the past 2 days.  they did great on like 50-60% ocean, but tehy don't seem to tolerate much higher than that.   I may end up having to just do a ocean bison combo if I want to feed them anything other than bison. Wow, that sounds scrumptious! I just got back from the store and was looking at the lamb...and if you cut the meat from the bone...there is barely any...just like you said. So, I ended up with some more beef (Beef Cut, Full Cut Round Steak). I wanted to get chicken...but it didn't look appealing at the time. Can you make beef and apples?! [&:] Also, I would never think to "brown" the meat first...can you do that with beef? You sure can make all kinds of food sound great! [:)]

Oh no! [:(] That's so sad! Are you sure they aren't sneaking Bully Sticks by chance...he he he. [;)] So, both of them have some pudding poop? Poor pups...I really wish they could tolerate it. I would hate to only be able to use one formula. But, who knows...maybe my pup won't tolerate the Bison or Ocean Blue? Maybe cut back to 50-60% Ocean for a few more days, then try to increase it again? [&o]

Yes...I brown beef about 1/2 the time.  It actually makes the broth and the meat taste a bit better.   Try it next time![:D]

I would hate to only be able to use one formula.

I know...I am very sad.  I am not giving up yet adn reduced it to about 50% ocean tonight for dinner.  I will see tomorrow what the poop looks like. Not sure why the other formulas aren't seeming to work.  Tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I started and it isn't like I pushed the transition.  I will be very interested to see how Max does on the other formulas.

It is funny that both my pups are reacting the same way to the foods...i would expect 1 to react and not the other.  I know it has to be the foods too because nothing has changed in their diet except the kibble. [&o]

Yes, I will do that for the crock-pot I make up for tomorrow night! So, I just use olive oil in the skillet and brown the outside of the meat with some seasoning? I don't know sounds too good...maybe I will just have to eat it then!! [:D]

Well, once again I think it is good that they both do the same...that way you don't feel bad 'cuz one does great and the other one does poorly. [&:] I am still keeping my fingers crossed...I know they will like the lamb and apples!! [:)]

Me too! I am very excited to switch to the Ocean Blue. I was thinking of switching either after this big bag or the next one. [&:]

SO the poop was NOT good again…almost diarrhea it was so bad AND last night I backed off the ocean to 50%.   Today I did LESS than 50% ocean.   I think I am only going to be able to give the stuff if I do a combo of no more than 40% ocean 60% bison.

Gosh…am I ever glad that I chose the bison to start with since that seems to be the only formula their system has been able to truly tolerate!   At least I have 1 TWO formula that my guys do well with.  I know it is just greyhounds…sometimes they have sensitive tummies.

They loved the lamb and apples I cooked this morning and it didn#%92t stink up my house too much (in fact it is kinda a weird smell..a little gamey but sweet from the apples.

Despite the fact that it seemed like I got almost NO meat after cutting away most of the lamb fat, actually I got enough for 7 meals for the pups so I froze more than ½ of it after I put it in little individual 2 oz disposable soufflé cups.  Loving the soufflé cup portions.  It makes it so easy to feed them variety if their crockpotted meats are all separated out into individual portions and frozen.  Then I thaw them out over night and pop them in the micro for about 20 seconds right before serving them.

Will probably try the sardines this weekend.   Twin- I can#%92t wait for Max to try the ocean!   Give him that sample though before you get it just to make sure he will eat it OK first.

The Serengeti you gave me still is not going over well with the cats so thanks for the sample.  Is Max still less itchy after having his bath yesterday??

That is so disappointing! [&o] I wonder why they can't tolerate it, but do so well on the Bison...weird. Well, at least they have one formula. Do you think you will mix Bison and Ocean Blue...or just feed the Bison? I'm so sorry...I feel so bad. It is so exciting to be able to mix and match the formula's...poor pups.

I am really excited too, but also a bit hesitant. I hope that he does OK on the Ocean Blue...I wonder if it's just too rich? Anyway, I know I will definitely be giving it a try here pretty soon. [&:]

I wonder if my cat is the only one that will eat that darn Serengeti? [8|] I am so glad I could send you a sample, though! [:)]
Is Max still less itchy after having his bath yesterday??

YES!! [:D] Actually he is noticably way less itchy. Maybe it was partially a build up of doggy dander? I think since he is prone to being itchy, I will just have to bath him more frequently. I used an oatmeal shampoo that I got at PetCo...it seemed to work very well! [:)] Not only that but he is sooooooo soft and shiny! I just can't stop petting him he feels so good to the touch. [;)]

OK, so I wanted to tell you that I gave him chicken for dinner last night! Mom had just cooked up a whole chicken and deboned it and everything...so I gave some to Max! Mom goes through all that work and I just feed some to the dog...he he he...it's OK though 'cuz she sure spoils him too! [:D] Anyway, he is NOT any more itchy at all...so maybe he is not allergic to chicken after all? I am thinking it might be more environmental or inhalent than anything else...mostly at least.

I wanted to ask you JJsmom...can you cook up a whole chicken in the crock-pot, or is that too much? Should I just stick with breasts?

I am sooo excited to try it!!!!! [:D]   CAN YOU TELL!!!!![sm=lol.gif]

So if Max is Ok with chicken then you should be able to feed this!!

No rice so my pups should be Ok too![:D]

    I can't wait.

As far as a whole chicken...yes you can do it it just means you have a whole lot of deboning to do later.  That is why I usually go to Trader Joes and buy the frozen chicken breasts and then cook them up whe I need them.

I am glad Max isn't as itchy...try baths every few weeks and see if it helps.  My guys go today to get theirs at a new dog wash we have never tried.  They are a little further away from me than the other do-it-yourself doggie washes, but they also carry TWO, and the glucosamine I use and and salmon oil, etc...  I love when my pups just have their baths...they smell so cuddly fresh![;)]

Twin...i noticed you haven't made a thread about just the TWO canned...since no one hardly reads this thread anymore I am gonna copy and paste your post into a new thread for other TWO feeders to see!

I am so glad that you ordered it and the Wild Salmon Oil. Looks like we will be starting the oil at around the same time then, because I should be getting my order on Monday! [:)] I am all ready...I got the Vitamin E (200IU) capsules the other day! You have to let me know how your pups like the canned TWO. I think I am going to wait awhile before I order it. I want to know how your pups do on it first, poopwise too! [:D]

I am excited too!!! I have to get the vitamin e soon.  also, tried teh sardines tonight and they loved them[:D]

Have backed off on TWO ocean...Pru gets a 50/ 50 split and JJ gets less ocean (about 40%) because he is still having some pudding poops.
Oh well...I will just feed them a combo of the two formulas and they will be fine.
    • Gold Top Dog
Oh well...I will just feed them a combo of the two formulas and they will be fine.

This beings the case...it is a really great thing that you did start off with the Dakota Bison. Any of the other formula's may have turned you off of TWO. I am really glad that they at least do really good on one formula. At least you will be able to mix in some Ocean for variety, so that is a plus. I really wonder how Max will react to the other formula's? Time will tell! [&:]

How are the poops on the Southwest versus the Bison?

I was totally thinking of the same thing this morning...Kenny..we haven't heard an update from you.[;)]     Is Roxie still on Cal Nat or did you start the TWO  southwestern chicken back up??

BTW- Twin- got a small bag of evo cat yesterday and they LOVE it!!  I might switch off felidae or do a combo of both.  Meanwhile, the serengeti still sits..they ate a little bit but not much.[&o]  I really wanted to feed that food...that way I can order it off line and get it the same time as my dog food...the price is only a couple dollars more than felidae and it is great food. EVO is way more expensive![:o]  Almost double what I pay for Felidae.

BTW- Twin- got a small bag of evo cat yesterday and they LOVE it!!

Great to hear! [:)] My cat's favorite is Innova EVO...he goes nuts for that dry food. I also give him it in the canned form, and he really likes that too. It would be really nice if they made and EVO Red Meat or something like that for cat's too! I really want to rotate with my cat, but want another protein source other than chicken! [:@] EVO, Serengeti, Felidae, and most others all have chicken as the main meat. Oh well...[&o]
