Royal Canin Forum Deleted My Post

I joined the Royal Canin forum a few weeks ago to ask questions about one of their prescription diets. I checked the nutrition forum today and someone who has a dog with an allergy to chicken was concerned because she thinks her dog may be reacting to the chicken fat in one of their food allergy diets. I suggested she may want to consider the Eagle Pack Holistic Select Anchovy, Sardine, and Salmon meal formula since most dogs aren't allergic to fish and it uses menhaden oil for the fat source. I submitted the post and a few minutes later it was deleted. I guess they don't like any mention of competing brands on their forum.

Is there a way for you to contact her personally (not sure if she would have the option of showing her e-mail)?

    That's pretty crappy of them.

I knew it wasn't a good idea to mention a competing brand on their forum but all their allergy diets except for the vegetarian one have chicken fat and this person's dog is allergic to chicken and is even allergic to the hydrolyzed chicken in the Hill's z/d. She wanted to know if she should try their vegetarian diet and I thought the EP Fish would be a much better option. Apparently it isn't a truely open forum like idog.

Maybe you can re-post and just send her the link to the i-dog nutrition forum...that shouldn't pose a problem.

That's what I was thinking too.  I also asked why Jessie has increased stool volume on the SS 21 even though I'm feeding her the same amount as her old food so I hope I haven't irritated them too much.

Was that the Hypoallergenic 19 thread?  If so, I'm going to post "Wasn't there another post here...just wondering if it accidentally got deleted..."

Yes it was; I just sent Glenda a private message with a link to idog and to information about EP Fish.

Ok, good.  I'm going to post my query right now just to see what happens, lol.

Well I skimmed the rules and they sure don't say that you can't mention other brands. However I'm not really surprised they did. I'm also not entirely impressed with their answers on the forum anyway.

    We'll see what happens. [8D]

I hope Glenna is able to get some good information here. There are lots of options that aren't vegetarian, they just may not be RC.

I did that before posting the information about Eagle Pack. I got the same answer you did about ethoxyquin in the menhaden fish meal when I contacted them by e-mail before joining their forum. How is Boomer doing on the food; is his system handling it okay? Jessie's stool volume has increased noticibly.

????  Me?  Glenda?  Or is there another one out there?

Sorry Glenda; I was referring to a member of the Royal Canin forum.

Oh, gosh, no need to be sorry.  I confuse easily to begin with and there are NOT a heck of a lot of Glenda's in the world....so was just wondering if I missed something that someone wanted me to do......[8D]

I haven't even tried it yet. Budget hasn't allowed it and I'm having a very hard time convincing myself that possibly messing up his stomach would be worth it. On the other hand, after our walk last night when I pulled his harness off he looked like he had white stripes from all the dandruff that rubbed off.

We may start it this weekend.
