Linda, those sweet & sour meatballs sound divine!  I can't wait to try them.  I make spaghetti often so these would be great with this or the sauce!  The reviews had some great tips and advise also.  This got me thinking now .... I have to find a veggie meatloaf to try sometime also!

    Thanks

    Veggie Pizza!  ....any ideas?

You could do a lot with different veggie pizzas. We just had one last night. It had a tomato type pizza sauce on it and then slices of mozzarela cheese, slices of tomato and basil leaves on it. We didn't make it but bought it and baked it at home. It's one of our favorites. You could also make one using either a pesto or cream sauce as the base and then load it up with olives, mushrooms, red onions, spinach leaves, etc. I used to make a pizza where you didn't use any pizza sauce but you'd carmelize a lot of onions, spread that on the crust, top that with a ton of fresh spinach and then sprinkle mozzarela cheese all over the top and bake it. It was one of the best pizzas ever and super easy. I remember thinking that it looked like way too much spinach, but when it baked, it cooked down and was just perfect.

First off.....I LOVE spinach...one of my fav foods!  Yeah....I must be weird!?!?  Would be great with PIZZA!

I was thinking that same thing about just throwing one together but I wasn't sure if it would be that easy.  I guess the more I think of it the more I'm starting to realize it probably is pretty simple.

I scrapped the idea today (found some salt COD inthe freezer) so maybe tomorrow or early in the week now.  I like the idea of carmelizing sauce outta onions.  Maybe with a tad of garlic?

I love spinach too..and garlic. Pizza of any kind should probably have garlic :). I've never tried the Boboli pre-made pizza bread, but I've heard it's good. When I was making them from scratch, I bought the frozen bread that came like 3 to a pack. I'd just thaw one out, let it rise and then press it out on a pizza pan and it was perfect. This discussion has renewed my interest in making pizza from scratch again too, so I may need to stock up on some stuff when I go shopping.

Vegetarian pizza is the best IMO.  When you've got tomatoes, olives, artichoke hearts, cheese, mushrooms etc. who needs greasy pepperoni?

AMEN to that!  I really couldn't get over it.  I thought it was just going to be "alright" but it blew the meats pizza outta the water!  I'm craving it now just thinking about it!

I'm not a vegetarian, but love me some veggie pizza. I love a pizza with onions, green peppers and pineapple with a BBQ sauce base instead of tomato.

I made a veggie lasagna the other night!  Low fat and no meat!

I have been looking for recipes for vegetarians but my problem is I don't eat most of the stuff they put in the food. I don't eat fish either or chicken.

Rice, pasta, pizza, french fries thats about it

I really need to try new things but I'm afraid lol my mind thinking is if it looks nasty or smells nasty I'm not touching it.

thanks for all the websites I'm gonna take a look and see if I can get the nerve to try one.

Papa Murphy's gourmet vegetarian pizza is sooo yummy.

Another idea for you is a "Quiznos" style sub. Slice open a sub bun, put Italian dressing on each side. Put some tomato slices on one side & cover with cheese. (I put cheese on both sides because I'm a cheeseaholic.) You can also add onions or any other veggie you like warm. Then put it on a cookie sheet in the oven (450?) for 5 minutes or so, just enough to toast the bread a bit and melt the cheese. Then top with shredded lettuce, spinach, whatever veggies you like. Yum yum!

I've got the BIGGEST hodgepodge craving these last couple days.  Does anybody have a good recipe?

....Oh, does that quiznos idea ever sound YUM.

    • Gold Top Dog

I got everything for the hodgepodge!!!!   Supper will be good tomorrow!

On a side note my whole plan was to go vegetarian for only two months but now I'm thinking I might go longer.  The cravings for certain foods are still there but not as bad as they were.  I feel so much better being a vegetarian than I did when I ate meats also!
