Nutro's 4 desserts

I guess, I'm pretty skeptical about Willow wanting any fruits or this type of dessert at all.  But, I'm willing to try it out.

I bought it at Pet Co.  They were .89 cents each.  Jake didn't like the berry or pumkin one.  My sister's dog wouldn't eat any of them, but he won't he any dog food other than Natural Balance duck, so you can't go by him.  I don't give Jake the whole can even though it's very small and about 96 calories each.  I give him a spoonful in place of a dog cookie.  Today I tried putting his vitamin in it.  My dog supposedly has a wheat allergy, but that was tested by blood test and supposedly it's not accurate, so I'm trying it and will see what happens.  I honestly don't see anything wrong with giving this as a treat once in a while.  Wait till you smell the apple and carrot one.  They smell really good!

gosh, my dogs get apple or some fruit and carrots in their homecooked every day.  Why would I want to spend that kind of cash for something they get every day anyhow?

Sorry, this might be a great product, but I don't know many dogs that push back from the table and wonder whats for dessert.....

I think it's cute, though I won't be buying them. I've bought an apple cobbler dessert for my dogs at Petsmart, before. I can't remember what brand it was, but they LOVED it. It was basically apples, oatmeal, cinnamon, and honey. Nothing bad, at all, but I can make dog cookies with similar, non-allergens relatively easily.

If my dogs were eat anything dogs, I would get them something like this,  on occasion, for a treat. They're pretty spoiled, though[:D]

I think it's a great idea for those of us who want to spoil their dogs.  I don't think it's a necessary in any way, but cute idea.  I wonder how they are marketing it, if at all.....I'd try it - but I'm one of those insane people......lol...
    • Gold Top Dog
Oh no definately not necessary... and frsh fruit and that is of course better if your dog will eat it.  This is a cute idea for those who dont like fresh fruits or for an alternative to regular kong stuffing like Lori said.  I wouldnt use it as desert I would stuff their empty raw bones with it if they like it... its actually a lot lower in calories than a lot of the things we use to stuff them with.

I did make them smoothie ice cubes recently but generally I just dont have time.

Dangit! I went to Petsmart today and totally forgot to look at those....lol
    • Gold Top Dog
That's hilarious.  My Chinese crested would love this.

I was at Petsmart today and they didn't have it yet. :( Hopefully they'll get it soon because I'm anxious to let Gingerbread try them.

Dessert definitely isn't "necessary" on any level for dogs or humans, but that doesn't mean we don't enjoy it!! [;)] And these Nutro desserts are waaaay healthier than Frosty Paws.

Went to Petsmart today....they had all of them except the apple one so I bought one of each (originally $.79 but they were $.69 with the PetPerks card).

So far he's only tried the berry one which he LOVED, he ate the whole thing in one gulp, lol.

I definitely won't be buying these regularly but I agree it's a neat/cute idea so I might get him one on occasion for a special treat.

Ok, well i am going to Pet Supplies Plus today, so i will see if they have them!  I am a bit curious....!

When Cookie "graduated" from Obedience School, they included a can of the Apple Cobbler and she loved it! She went completely nuts for it!

That's a good idea though, about putting it in her raw bone..I never thought of that. [:)]

Ok, so as soon as i heard about the desserts, i was totally  pumped to get it for my two.  So, when I went to PSP to get their dog food, they didn't have it.  So, yep you guessed it, on my way home from work I stopped at Petco and picked up two cans for them, the berry cobbler and the apple pie.  Last night, i gave Lily and Charlie the berry cobbler, and Lily did not know what to do with it, i mean she licked it, but did not eat it.  My tzu Charlie just loved it, he ate both of theirs-I split the can between the two of them.  And let me tell you, even though it looks like regular canned dog food, it smelled amazing![:)]

We sometimes give Gracie that frozen dog ice cream that's in the freezer section of the grocery store so this would be a fun thing to try as an alternative. Thanks for letting us know about it! I would have never seen it!

I think it's an adorable idea. Although, not nessicary at all. Dogs need more meat in their diet. But, as a treat, I think it's wonderful. I want to try and get a can for Penny's birthday.
