Raw and no ticks!

Wild animals suffer from ticks too so I also doubt that a raw or natural diet prevents ticks.

About 4-5 years ago we had a horrible problem with what we call seed ticks.  They are very tiny and like to get on the dogs lips, eyelids, edges of ears and between toes.  I would get a little dish (old, not used for food anymore) and put alcohol in it and use tweezers to pull the ticks off the dogs and put them in the dish and kill them.  Ticks were to small to pull by hand.  I was told they were brought into the yard by birds.  I don't know.

I don't know why we are not seeing ticks on our dogs this year as there are zillions of squirrels, birds, free roaming cats, possums, coons around here.  There is a live oak "forest" up to our back fence and we have huge sycamores in our back yard.

But fleas is another story and even spraying house and yard and using Frontline plus on the dogs is not doing much good.  In two weeks time they dogs are covered again.

I do not think feeding raw will keep ticks off a dog because as Jessies_mom said, wild animals have them.

Well we are going to major tick country this weekend.  If Red doesn't get any ticks I will be sure it is because he is on raw and thriving.  I have not used Advantix yet this spring or summer.

Last year I tried natural stuff like running lemons and lemon jiuce on him w/o no luck  He still got ticks.
