Ice cream?

You could give human ice cream or even vanilla yogurt.

Frankly, I don't remember seeing any meat by-products at all on the ingredient list.  It's a seasonal treat, I'm not going crazy worrying about what's in them.  You've got to live a little, all this crazy obsessing isn't good.

Eeek! I just googled Frosty Paws... it's made by Purina so the horrid ingredients don't surprise me:

    Ingredients

Water, dried whey, soy flour, animal fat (preserved with BHA and BHT) dry whey product, dried whey protein concentrate, vegetable fat, soy lecithin, microcrystalline cellulose, mono and diglycerides, carboxmethyl-cellulose, polysorbate 80, polysorbate 60, calcium carbonate, choline chloride, ferrous sulfate, zinc sulfate, manganese sulfate, magnesium oxide, silicon dioxide, vitamin a supplement, vitamin e supplement, niacin supplement, copper sulfate, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin supplement, potassium iodine, thiamine monoitrate, vitamin D3 supplement, vitamin B12 supplement, folic acid.

Obsessing or not, I will not knowingly feed my dog something that has "animal" fat preserved with BHT and BHA, especially it being the 4th ingredient. [:'(] And the rest of the ingredients aren't great either....

The dog magazine I subscribe to had an ad of this doggie ice cream.

I make my own.  I use a big tub of plain yogart, a dollop of peanut butter, drizzle of honey and a couple of bananas, stick it all in the blender then pour into either kongs or ice cube trays.  Cheaper, and I know they are pretty healthy.

Some dogs can't handle the sugar (lactose) that is in ice cream.

I also make my own frozen treat.  Just plain vanilla yogurt blended with carrots and a little peanut butter, then frozen in a plastic tub.  I thaw it until its almost the consistency of soft serve, scoop, and serve.

I change some of the ingredients around dpeending on what i have on hand.  Its always been a big hit with Maggie and my brothers' dogs.
