EASY yummy Thanksgiving sides

    I have another really good one that is a whole cranberry one..I don't like cranberries...but this one is really good. If I can find it I will post it.
     
    Gina...if you like Parmesan...you will LOVE the orzo...I always add a little more than what the recipe calls for![;)]

    This is a corn recipe that never fails (as long as you eat bacon) and it can be made a ahead of time and kept in the frig:
     
    Ingredients
    6 bacon slices
    ½ cup chopped onion
    2 Tbs. flour
    ½ tsp. salt
    ½ tsp. minced garlic
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    1 cup sour cream
    2 (16 oz.) bags of frozen corn, thawed
    1 Tbs. parsley
    1 Tbs. chives
     
    Directions
    1.      Preheat oven to 350º
    2.      Partially cook bacon in skillet.
    3.      Add onion and cook until bacon is done.  Drain all by 1 Tbs. of fat.
    4.      Set bacon and onion mixture aside.  Stir flour, salt, pepper and garlic into fat.  Cook over medium heat; stirring constantly until smooth and bubbly.  Stir in sour cream, sour cream and 1/3 of bacon/onion mixture.
    5.      Pour in casserole dish, sprinkle with remaining bacon/onion mixture. Bake at 350º for 25 - 30 minutes until heated.
    6.      Sprinkle with chives before serving.

    I do a broccoli and rice casserole occasionally,,,it had cream of mushroom soup in it....  if you are interested I can look it up.
    But my favorite veggie is broccoli casserole with velvetta cheese and you used Ritz crackers crushed as a topping....I usually make broccoli and cauliflower intead of just broccoli.  I can dig up that recipe also if your interest.
