Clicker training "hold"

Update: What do you guys think of this?  I've been working on focus and just starting to add in some things like me shuffling my position, moving my hands, touching the pipe, etc. so that he learns hold means hold until I click or say "aus" (ie, I should be able to dance a jig and empty my treat pouch onto his head and he is still holding!)

It looks GREAT!!!!  Way to go, Lies!

Thank you I am very pleased.  I really did not expect him to take off like this, he's so ADD lately!  I think the trick has been keeping the sessions really short, and quitting while we're ahead.

I find that short sessions, and trying to quit on a positive note are very helpful, too.  I like that piece of work - looks good.

He looks fantastic! I see lots of V in Nikon's Obedience future! I see Ana in your sig. Is she staying? Big Smile

Thanks Jason.  We did it last night at club for the TD.  He gave me a better object to train with and is now having me hold the object out away from me (or have someone else hold it) and have Nikon bring it in and hold.  I guess he is satisfied with the hold (the length, focus, no chewing).

I don't have Ana right now and probably won't take her back, she's doing well and we achieved what I had hoped (I trained her some basic stuff, did the house training and crate training, and last night at club she was the best of all the puppies).  The breeder will have to decide which to keep, or both.
