Just found a blind dog

Bless you for caring for this pup.  Stevie sounds like a "wonderful" name for him.  Fleas can carry some diseases but mostly are a nuisance.  A good bath will help with the fleas.  I hope you find him a good home.  Please post pictures!

I LOVE Stevie also,,,I think its a GREAT name for him!
About fleas,,, I work at a vet and I swear that everyday there are at least 5 people coming in to buy flea medicine (Advantage or Frontline) to put on their dogs. Not one of them have ever talked about a disease that was caused by them...although like pip said, its possible.
You don't want the fleas to get in your house though,,,or treat your house if they do.
I can't waite to see a picture of Stevie!!!  Hope you post it soon. The biggest thing to remember about posting pictures is keeping it small enough to post. Then click on the bottom of where you write your post,,, Check Embed picture in post and click to upload then OK to send.
I am sure you will find him a loving home...I wish you could keep him,,,,I think you would love him.

Do you know someone with a nice older dog who might become a big brother/sister to Stevie?  Blind dogs can follow sighted dogs I think.

    Bless you for caring!

And yes folks, this happens in the USA too,,,evil evil and I hope they get punished   or bad karma comes their way.

Finally a happy end to a sad story. Stevie will now be kept in the ZOO. If by case someone wants to take it, firstly will must contact with me, so i can see whether it goes in good hands. Thank God. I am very happy for the puppy, and until someone wants to take it i will go to visit it everyday.

I wished i could keep it, but there's no possibilty, sadly.

And finally here's a picture of Stevie. Sorry for the bad qialuty, though.

Ups, sorry. Can a mod resize it, or can someone give me instructions how to resize it?
    • Gold Top Dog
I will try to down size it for you.
Thansks for posting the picture...Stevie looks so cute...
I'm glad you found a solution to where he will go,,, will he stay with you until you move or will he go there right away?    What kind of home will he have at the zoo, do you know?

I just couldnt let em go today, so Stevie will stay with me this night, too and tommorow morning off we go. She will surely be given a nice home, and she will have the attention needed for HER, and finally it will be with other dogs, so she should start a new friendship. IF ONLY, i could keep her, but that's it. At least i know that she will be safe, and it wont fell into the hands of some cruelty, cause every one who wants to adopt it, must ask me first [sm=dance.gif]

That part of the zoo, is like a adoption part, and dogs are almost always taken by nice people or by the association for protection of animals SRNA - meaning DEAR. I will try to get in contact with them, if they could keep it it would be the best. But of course, there are many nice people around, so Stevie will absolutely be happy as she deserves. + I will visit her every time i can and as often as i can. Till my migration every day, after that every 2 weeks probably. Oh, i am feeling so sad, she has to go. I know that tommorow some tears will drop.[:(] Lets just say, that is the best solution for her, and i did everything that i could o help that puppy.

    I LOVE STEVIE

Yes,,,you did do a lot for her. Thank goodness. I guess I worry now because she has very special needs....hopefully someone that is very mature and caring will take her. I have a friend who wanted to rescue a blind dog from a puppy mill...a pup that the guy just didn't have the chance to put down yet.....but she realized that she lived on a busy street and that to have a totally blind dog would be very hard while living there,,,so she ended up getting another that was blind only in one eye. I guess a totally blind dog can not be for just anyone.
You are a very good and carring soul,,or you would not have taken that pup in and to the vet for care...I sure wish you could keep her. BUT I'm sure you will make sure she is well taken care of.

oh i'm on the verge of tears!  i'm so glad that you took such good care of stevie, she's lucky to have been found by someone like you.  looking at her picture just broke my heart, knowing that someone would deliberately do that just kills me.  she looks so sweet!

What a wonderful solution. Here, in the States, we have rescues and shelters. That sounds like what the zoo is doing. Keeping the dogs safe, til they find a good home.

Stevie is adorable. She'll be beautiful, when she heals. I hope she finds a perfect home, and you get to visit her, with her new family.

    [:(][:(][:(] Stevie's at the zoo. [:(][:(][:(]

She has nice new temporary home with 3 other dogs, who already started playing with her, and she wont be placed in a small cage, but in a bigger building and the zoo keeper promised me that she will have the special attention needed. I will absolutely do my best when it comes to her adoption.

You are an angel [sm=angel.gif].  Stevie can have a great life, even if she is blind.  A dog's primary sense is *smell*, so they aren't as dependent on vision as we are, and they can learn to navigate quite well in a familiar environment.  I hope that you know how much that dog needed what you did for her - I am sure that no one will ever "send you to hell".  A higher power than all of us will look out for you, I'm sure...
