Just found a blind dog

    Just found a blind dog

    Ok, this may sound nasty,
Like this, i have found a dog which eyes were completely rippen off. The poor thing didnt had eyes. Someone pulled'em off. Now i have used my one hand to catch the dog and put it in a carton box. Lets make a probable suggestion that the dog was some kind of ill. Can something be transported to me? I didnt touched its eyes, only the abdomen part?

I know it may sound unfair because i am thinking more for my self than for the poor blind dog, but i am really worried, for my health.

    Thanks.

I wouldn't think you could catch anything. Now, how is that dog and are you going to take it to get the help it needs?
You can ask the vet those questions cause none of us are veterinarians and nor can we see the condition or diagnosis of this poor dog.
So, advise us once it has been seen by a Veterinarian. Have you call Animal Control or the cops?

Friend to be honest, i am from Macedonia, and in my country there's definitely no such thing as a animal protection and the police would send me to hell if i call them and tell about a dog with no eyes. The first thing in the morning will be taking the sweat thing to a vet.

How horrible friend.!! Is it in pain? OMG It sickens me to even think a human could do something like that to a poor defenseless creature.

I am nausiated!  But then again it does not surprise me too much volunteering in a high kill shelter you see all sorts of sick things that man has done to a defenseless animal.

I would not want to be in their shoes when they meet their maker!

I dont know, you see, what;s left of his eyes is now dry and its hanging over. The swet thing, goes forward for example and hits in wall, and still tries to move forward, it doesnt sees the wall, its so so sad

I have heard many times that dog get used to being blind very quickly.  Bless you for taking him in!  I'm sure the vet will assure you when you take him tomorrow morning.   ;Perhaps some comforting petting and holding by you will make him feel wanted and secure.  Hopefully he will eat some thing for you, drink some water.
How sad that someone would be so mean,,,poor thing. I will never understand people....ever.
I'm so happy you took him in and are caring for him, he needs you so much!

I am sorry friend. Maybe you can confine the dog to a smaller area so it doesn't bump into too many things until it can be seen in the morning. I wish you luck. Offer the poor thing some water tho, make it as comfortable as you can. Sending you strength and healing vibes.

Yeah, dont worry about that. It drank a bit water, and now its safe and sound in a box with some old clothes to be warmer for the dog and its on my balcony.

I will take some sleep now, in the morning ill head straight for a vet, and as soon as i can ill post here to tell you what happened with the poor thing.

    Regards,
    Darko

Yes,,,please tell us what the vet said!
Also,,,I really hate to be a worrying person,,,but of course,,,I am!  You say he's on your balcony,,,I hope its enclosed. Usually a balcony is high,,and of course he can't see if he gets close to the end to fall. Perhaps he can't get out of the box he is in though.  I am sure you will keep him safe and sound,,,and again,,,thanks so much for caring for the poor dog.
Does he seem to be very young? A puppy?

First to reply to Dyan - yes its small puppy - and yes it was very safe and sound on the balcony - in fact it was sleping like a baby.

Now - the puppy went to the vet.

The vet was disgraced when it saw it and immediately she gave him an injection with vitamins for the uppy to feel better and used some kind of liquid for cleaning its eyes. She has also sprayed it because of the small insects (dont know their real name in English). However, she said that there's no chance for the puppy to look again cause it was way too obvious that someone pulled its eyes with an intention.

Now, i gave him a yoghurt and some milk and i must consider what is the best option for the puppy.

Yes, it is disgraceful what someone did. What kind of human being would do that??
    Maybe the pup has fleas?
Are you in a position to keep the puppy and give him a nice home?
    • Gold Top Dog
You are so kind to have taken in this puppy and cared for it.  Blind dogs do learn their way around, given time, and adjust to it.  One thing you can do is put different smelling oils around to help him identify objects such as stairs, tables, doors and corners.

Yes, dyan the puupy had fleas, but the vet have given it a dog powder, and he is a bit cleaner now.

However, i will keep the puppy for at least 10 days more, but afterwards, i must move to another city cause university obligations. I cant keep the puppy there cause my roommates certainly wont want it. I will try to find some family that will keep it, or some solution which will keep it safe. ITS A MUST.

Can fleas be dangerous to people?
Can i post an image here of the dog?
Can you suggest me a name for the dog?  - I am thinking about Stevie - from Stevie Wonder.
