Billy's Newest Adventure - obstruction (*sigh* Callie)

Oh, Billy--no more eating quarters! Callie, I'm glad the surgery went well and that he'll be able to come home tonight. Fingers crossed for good news from the red bump test, too. (((hugs)))

I was dying all morning wondering how things were going!!!  So glad to hear the surgery is done and over with and Billy's recovering!

A quarter!?!?!  Did you get it back?  You could frame it and tell people what the quater is actually worth!!  LOL

Sending healing vibes and prayers Billy's way.  When will you hear back on the bump?

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh Callie, I was just seeing this and I'm glad he's come through this ordeal ok!  Billie, little man, you gotta quit taking years off your momma's life like that!

With the liver values what they are he's pretty sick -- and I tend to think it's because stomach acid was hitting it so hard.  so last night I'm giving him diluted babyfood with about a tablespoon of milk thistle in it and a bunch of SAM-e Cell Food liquid.

His poor liver is in BAD shape -- the vet didn't other to biopsy it but it is badly scarred frm all the IMHA drugs.  But -- we'll see what we can do to continue to keep it 'happy'.

Dunno about the "spot".  Usually a couple of days but it's already gone to pathology.

And I haven't had a chance to check MY (as in "home";) email all day.

However -- I just got a call and they *really* want Billy observed tonight so he's going home with his favorite Tech.

She's the one I mentioned a few weeks ago who has the son who is extremely ill.  At first I was going to insist on picking him up -- but then I realized that if he went home with the Tech he could do the "pet therapy" thing ALL NIGHT LONG with her son.  Both Billy and Child will be in their heights of glory.  Billy's catheter can stay in (he's got fierce diarrhea -- which happens when you haven't had solid food in 48 hours and you 'drank' your dinner last night with a quart of water and a LITTLE babyfood.)

She knows I'm teaching him sign -- so she'll talk to his face and give him the signs.  But boy and dog will be over the MOON about this.  I can just SEE the mass cuddling that will go on tonight.

Billy really misses pet therapy but I can't do it with him any more because he can't have ANY vaccinations (not rabies and I won't put his life at risk JUST to do pet therapy). Soooooooooooo for Billy to have a whole night cuddling with this kid will be awesome for both of them.  Billy knows all of her kids so they're all buds anyway.

This was no 'plan' but it's darned fortuitous.

Whew!  Glad Billy got the quarter out and will be having a fun sleep over tonight!

     Good thoughts about the "spot"

I'm thinking it was a plan, Billy just forgot to tell you about it ;-)

Good he can be watched over all night by the tech and good he can hang out with his buddy all night! The child is going to have one BIG story to tell all is! (I'm seeing a book in the making written by the child and Billy...Billy goes to a Sleep-Over...)

    ((((Hugs))))

Callie; Give that sweet boy some ear scritches for me. I'll be praying that he's well enough to come home with you tomorrow. Sending tons of no cancer vibes; (((((hugs)))))

No wonder his liver values are not so good as don't the non-silver quarters have zinc in the composit metal that they are made from now?  I sure hope the little bud is OK.  I live in fear of obstructions with having Bull Terriers.

Sure hope the spot isn't cancer.  Billy sounds like he has been run through the mill in his life.  Gosh, y'all need a break!!  Hugs for Billy and you.

I can see a DEFINITE full blood chem panel in his future so we can see what we're dealing with.  They have zinc and copper both I think and apparently this quarter is pretty chewed up from being in the stomach acid.

I still cannot believe we are talking about Billy who did this!  Billy, you are NOT a piggy bank!  Glad the rough surgery is over and hoping for good results with the pathology and liver values.

    • Gold Top Dog

So many good vibes for Billy.  I'm glad he made it through the surgery and got a chance to spend time with a kid.  What glory you must have been in last night.  Please don't let that boo-boo be hemangiosarcoma.

    • Bronze

    wow,

i'm glad billy is doing good after surgery. Can't believe he ate a quarter, but like johnny said good thing it was't an old penny. I hope that bump is't cancerous. Well i'm sure billy will  be jumping around in  knowm  time, we all know how much of a fighter he is.

    take care
