Alright gang help me out here, I'm borderline freaking out
B has been doing super despite all the meds they have thrown at him. We finished all the Tramadol and antibiotic, haven't used the Trazedone, and have been taking (1) 100mg Rimadyl every morning. No problems what so ever. i asked the surgeon on Tuesday if I could stop the Rimadyl, he said his experience is it is best to use it for 1 month post op. OK doc I'll hang on.
Well then we have a confluence of things occur and a problem. The problem is he started having loose pale colored stools Friday evening after not pooping that morning.
I stopped the Rimadyl yesterday morning so we are day 2 without it.
He had loose pale stools yesterday morning and then at night. He did not poop today until about 2:30 and it was preceded by air, again loose but slightly firmer, slightly darker, and this time he had fresh blood on the outside of the stool.
Thursday he had his first rehab session and the girl used their treats (with his food allergies always a worry) He also will have ingested some of the water in the tank/treadmill which smelled chlorinated and had dog hair and dander I would imagine in it.
Thursday night he ate that lamb fore shank, rather quickly and it was a lot.
Friday he started his new kibble in the evening - it is made by the same company and is extremely similar. (Orjen Fresh fish is norm, he has Arcana Pacifica now due to shortages of the former)
His energy and behavior is perfectly normal - normal for him I checked his eyes and they aren't yellowing or anything.
So am I right to worry about the Rimadyl? Is it may be a GI thing or liver thing?
Could it be the after effects of the lamb? Or the change in food?
He has never had GI issues or liver issues. I have been giving him tons of milk thistle to help with the meds.
I'm going to call the surgeon in the morning but am wondering what you all think
Tonight I am giving him tripe and sweet potatoes
