Do you put dress up your dog?

At least jackets for cold weather purposes and to keep dogs warm and dry serve a purpose. When i think of "dressing dogs up",i think silly little cowboy, ballerina etc costumes, outfits that serve no other purpose but to make the dog look and feel ridiculous, these owners tend to treat their dogs like little dolls or human babies. These types of things really bug me![:@]

She usually wears a bandana all the time, but once we found this witch's hat at Petsmart.  Everyone gave her attention and said how pretty she was, so now she loves to wear it.

THat witch hat reminded me of the time my mother bought Boomer a santa hat.  Wasn't on his head for long but long enough for this pic.

No dressing for now,  just plain natural.

Its not something I do a lot but I bought this on Friday. He was quite happy to wear and I think it was quite cosy. [:)]

Although it may seem silly or "humanizing" of [those of us who do so] us to dress up our dogs, I have found it to be a great way of making my larger dogs seem less threatening. People have approached me at the local Lowes or Marvins ( building supply stores that allow controlled dogs inside) and told me that they "don't even like dogs but that one is so cute!"

I would never dress up my current dog.  It would be beneath her dignity. [;)]

I think if  I had a cute little toy dog, I would dress him/her up sometimes.

No, never! I don't think, that my dog needs something like that.

Yes I do. Currently its only been hoodies, but I'm going to buy her a rain coat, and make a her a party dress. My mom thinks that its cruel to dress her up, but Norway (my dog) LOVES it!

I use sweaters and rain coats when needed for warmth or protection from the rain.

Other than that the only time I have ever done it was on halloween. We never use to get many trick r treaters so we use to take our dogs walking around the neighborhood to see all the kids dressed up. On those couple occassions I would have the my female dog wear a witch hat and my male a crown.  I would wear a festive shirt or something too.

I all depends...I try sweaters and dresses all the time though! [:D]

I don't dress my boys.  They are HUGE.  I find it silly to dress up BIG DOGS.  On the other hand I find it very cute to dress up little dogs.  I dressed my chihuahua up when I had her.

YEP! Trudy gets dressed  up  and comes to me when I have something to put on her. Also, to get her hair fixed. I am always VERY careful to have her barrettes, dresses etc. very comfy. If she didn't like it, I would not do it.  She does not sleep in clothes are barrettes/bows. This is a photo of her little harness/dress for walking.

I don't dress up Gingerbread or Cinnabun, but I would definitely put functional clothes on them, like a raincoat or sweater.
