Farewell to a Princess

Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    I'm so sorry, Bonita.
She'll be greeted at the bridge by my beloved Pepper (1991-2004), and many others.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  RIP, Jasmine, you show them how it's done at the Bridge too.

I'm a bit belated, but I'm very sorry to hear of your loss of Jasmine.  Even when we know the "right" thing is to stop their pain and suffering, the pain and suffering WE feel is unbearable.

One of my favorite plants in our backyard is our climbing jasmine, which is blooming and has a beautiful fragrance.  I enjoy it every day when I stand by it to unroll the hose to water my other flowers.  I'll be extra mindful of the wonderful aroma in the coming days and think of your Jasmine, who is now enjoying a beautiful garden herself, free of pain.

Run free Jasmine -- you were clearly loved and will be dearly missed by your family.
