Rainbow Bridge

The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

    Ch Windridges HeatWave Bwana CGC TDI   My darling Jasmine crossed the bridge this morning to join her mate, 3 pups and Our Moms.  More will be written in the thread about how to help kids understand but this is a simple and grief filled note, my best friend, most purest love and soul puppy crossed the bridge this morning.  Somehow the gentle glow of the candles and the scent of jasmine filling our room may help us to get through the night.  Just knowing she is not in any discomfort, and that her welcoming commitee was there with open arms and wagging tails may ease a small amount of the pain.

    She is gone from my days but never from my life.  I miss her , I love her and it is the determination of my family that us keeping me from following her.

    Please light a candle for her to celebrate her life,    and what a life it was!

    Momma misses you my Jasmine.

    Jasmine will never be gone because she will never be forgotten. She, and you, will be in my thoughts tonight.  Her life was good, full of love and she will hurt no more, not ever. May you find peace in the coming days, as she did this morning.

    Aha -- this is why you were SO on Billy's and my hearts today.  Foxy the MOstlie Sheltie had it all organized ... he did his job to welcome her with all Honors. 

    Bonita -- my heart does break for you -- just keep breathing for now -- it's all you can do.

    I'm so sorry, Bonita.  I'm lighting my candle as soon as I post this.  If there is to be any comfort, let it be knowing that she is running free and is full of peace.  You and your family will be in my thoughts.

     My thoughts are with you Bonita. I'm going to find my special candle and light it to honor Jasmine.  I'm sorry for you lossing such an important person in your life. *hugs*

     I'm so sorry, Bonita and family...you had been in my thoughts all day yesterday, and I had this feeling that the time had come.  Run free with eternal youth, Jasmine...your family loves you!

    Ohhhh reading that and your other entry brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry for your loss.I know how hard it is loosing your best friend and companion. The only comfort you can have is knowing she isnt in pain anymore. The saddness never goes away, but you must also remember all the wonderful times you both shared.
