Prayers for Sammie
My Moms cat- used to be my cat until I moved out- Sammie, 16+ yrs old, will be going to the bridge this afternoon. He's blind and his kidneys are failing, he's still eating and drinking but everything is just running through him or he's puking it up. I'm gonna miss him.

Run Free Postie
When my dear Kobi became ill I received a PM from another woman who had been searching the internet for information for her dog, who was diagnosed with the same condition. She never posted on dog.com but we emailed each other for well over a year. We kept each other up to date and shared our journey...

Moose the Cat
He is gone and buried already with his favorite hump toy. Moose was a shelter cat that I adopted in July 2005. He was 3 years old and came with the name Gus, but I knew it did not fit him. He was much larger than my other cat and every time he jumped on something, things would get knocked over, and...

Crystal the cat
She's not my cat, but belonged to a manager I work with who I also consider a friend. Long story short, I met a lady a couple of years ago who was trying to find a home for her 11 y.o. cat. The story was that she was highly allergic and couldn't take dealing with it anymore. I was very tactful...

Copper - Rupert's buddy
Some of you may remember Rupert's buddy, Copper. He came from a byb, was not properly socialized, and had issues with aggression (dogs and people) his whole life. Rupert was one of the only dogs he would play with, and it took us a lot of work to get that far. His owners and the trainer worked very...

I'm Always Reminded Today
Today is Sequoyah's birthday (she's five), but it's also the day after I lost my heart dog, Dancer, back in 2006. Dancer hung around just long enough to start Sequoyah off in life with a healthy respect for older dogs;-) For that, I will always be grateful, and I will always miss my little...

rw-Loss in the family
My Mom's old lady Motown was given over into her restful sleep this afternoon. Motown was around 13 and a mix of Rottie, Akita and Husky. She was adopted thru a rescue way back in 1997/8 at a couple of months old. I moved out to Texas in late 1998 and Motown grew up with my Mom and sisters as...

Lost a little piece of my heart today. Run free Rotten.
Osteosarcoma finally claimed my Rotten dog. She was diagnosed in July 2008, and at the time they told me it was a particularly aggressive form and I didn't expect to have more than a few weeks with her. However, with holistic and traditional support, she stayed happy and healthy with me until this...

Memories
Does anyone have some memories to share from your previous dogs? I’ll love to hear from you. One of my previous dog (Cookie) hated frogs & cats. He loved to wear my reading glasses & each time I wanted to grab them he’ll turn his head. I believe Cookie thought he was human ha ha. He didn’t seat...

Aspen, run free little peanut
Aspen has gone to the Bridge. I don't know many details other than it was metastasized cancer. Karen got word from Annie but can't post at the moment and asked me to start this thread. I have no words but if I could take even a tiny bit of the pain and heartbreak from you, Annie, I would gladly...

Frisby
My dear Frisby died in her sleep last night. I was stuck off island because of the hurricane, but her Grandpa and Grandma were with her to care for her. She went to sleep and then over to the Bridge at home. She spared her Grandpa seeing her go; she waited til he tucked her in for the night and then...
