Rainbow Bridge
The Rainbow Bridge is the theme of a work of poetic prose written some time between 1980 and 1992, whose original creator is unknown. The theme is of an other-worldly place to which a pet goes upon its death, eventually to be reunited with its owner.

Jake the Shepherd
Today we let Jake go. As is always the case, it#%92s not an easy decision but one that we make because we love them enough not to allow them to suffer. Jake has been going downhill steadily in the past week. This morning he had to be driven across the street to the park, one of his favorite places....

Bonnie, the Cocker mix
Bonnie was a victom of the Menu Foods recall. She was only four years old. She was one of the sweetest dogs you'd ever meet, and nobody met her and forgot her. Her family loved her dearly, and took VERY good care of her. She will be very sorely missed. She passed on Friday, in her Mom's arms...

my Java is gone
My dearest sweet feline boy, Java, suddenly passed away on Wednesday July 18 at 7:45 am. He was only 6 years old. I woke up to him screaming in pain, paralyzed in the rear - both legs and no bladder control and panting heavily. When I placed him in the carrier to take him to the e-vet, he passed away...

Mr. Stanley, runs free...
Goodbye, Mr. Stanley. I'm going to miss your visits and sleep-overs. I'm going to miss your hugs. I can never thank you enough for helping me with my Tia, when she first came home with me. You were a wonderful dog and beautiful being. You endured a life on three legs with a joyous...

Taz, the Wonderdog
I had to euthanize Taz yesterday. Taz was a seven year old yellow Labrador Retriever. He was a good dog. That's the highest compliment I can give him because those were the two words that meant the most to him in the whole world - to hear me say "good dog". I am amazed at how sorrowful...

Rest In Peace sweetheart...
My dear little Sunny Bunny passed away sometime last night/early this morning. :'( I got him when he was 8 weeks old. He was six years old. He had quite an attitude and was full of spunk. He was my first rabbit....it feels so weird to say "was".....I miss him already. I've been snuggling...

Beautiful, wonderful poem
I've heard this one a few times before, and it is sooo beautiful, if you haven't heard it before, enjoy. Author unknown. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow I am a diamond glint on snow I am the sunlight on ripened grain I...

Gilda is gone.
I just received a call from my mentor. Gilda is gone. I don't really want to get into details, but it was a very fluke accident that happened. My mentor is pretty sad about the situation because Gilda was one of his favorites. She was a very sweet dog who loved people. All I can be grateful for is...

R.I.P. Jake
Jake our 11 1/2 year old rottweiler died last night. He was fine one minute dead the next. He'd been having problems with arthritis. Jake was old for a rottweiler, he was my mama's baby so she's really upset about it. Jake had a famous ancestor. Back in January or Febuary he got really bad...

Cinder the Rat, 4/04 - 6/29/07
Well. She wasn't a dog, but she was darn special. I wrote this memorial for the rat forums I'm a part of, but I figure I may as well post it here as well. If nothing else it will hopefully make some people who maybe didn't previously think of rats as anything other than a pest...think of...
