Joyce, you took the words right out of my mouth. Which means your brain must work at least somewhat like mine, so for that you should be terrified, lol.
I partook of the heated pre-election debate threads, and I think, for the most part, people were able to have a good debate with very different points of view and keep it civil at the same time. That's what made it fun!
Another example. I was just making some collections calls. Now, if I call someone who owes my company money, and I immediately start talking to them in a short, snappy tone, do you think I'm going to encourage anyone to actually pony up the money? No! And, also, I can't assume they're just trying to dodge their payment responsibilities...there could be a very legitimate reason why they haven't paid yet (ie-post office lost the invoice, etc). So, you absolutely DO catch more flies with honey, and you cannot assume that you know every aspect of another person's situation. Same principal applies here. I'm one of those people that if you talk down to me, I'm going to take what you say with a grain of salt. I think a lot of us are like that.
And, I'd just like to state FTR that while Ron may have hairy legs, should I ever find myself in need of some good ol' Texas justice, there's no question who I'm going to call upon.
