Online Communities = Support vs. Enabling

I'll have you guys know that my coffee came rolling out my NOSE!!  Geeze!

I don't believe I EVER said that I like being spanked.  It's just one of those things that happens when my big fat feet go over the line.  Stuff happens, you deal with it, as Gina said a good deal more kindly.

E?  I sure hope you don't start naming us crappy owners.  That would be neither supportive or enabling....

I guess this bears repeating..."Walk a mile in my shoes"

Not too many people know many people here on the forum personally know another. Even Annie and I, we live about 80 miles from each other, see each other a few times a year if we are lucky. She's seen my dogs but she really doesn't know me or how I do anything. I would "assume" that she considers me a good dog parent but I could be the worst on the planet.

I can't say that any of us could truely know just what each other is going through when dealing with some problems we are faced with. It still all boils down to name calling etc are not acceptable behavior no matter how much the poster thinks they are right in the part they are playing

Jaime, I was thinking last night...

just how hard it must be...to be perfect. I mean imagine the weight of the world on you because you are the only one who knows the "right" ways to do things? Whew!

Well...I guess we should just all be grateful that so many perfect folks are charitable enough to spend time on the internet (and they are ALL over the internet...check and see!) "helping" us all. LOL.

Well isn't that an interesting thought!! Must be torture, I'm not perfect but I am very knowlegable in many areas. I try to share my knowledge with anyone who requests it and I will also "offer" it by saying "if you're interested in my opionion" But I also keep in mind that each of us receive information differently and try to "deliver" my message in a manner that could be appriciated.

I'm glad I'm not perfect, I couldn't deal with the added stress

Just to keep this conversation in line with the "OFF TOPIC" rule - would you say you are supporting or enabling? LOL!

So are you saying that Spiritdogs, Ron2, Chuffy, Liesje, Glenda, etc. are perfect because they spend the time to give advice and trying to help people who come to this forum with dog issues?

If they suggest to do something thats no other but the complete right way to do things?

    • Gold Top Dog

I am not suggesting anything about the folks mentioned, I know all their names and when I speak about them or to them I make sure it's clear...general commentary on the net and it's well known and well earned rep for hosting some of the most perfect souls on earth! Don't blame me...blame Al Gore!

eta: Glenda can't be perfect because she roots for the Red Sox anyhow. And Ron has hairy legs.

That didnt answer my question. I didnt ask you if you know their names or if you speak about them. Are they perfect because they are in different boards trying to help people with dog issues and suggest to do something different before killing the dog? That sounds more like normal people like you and me.

It seems that for you if they give advice to less knowledgeable people then they might believe they are perfect.

((slaps my forehead)) Oye, you are destroying my will to live.  I'm sure that's EXACTLY what Gina was saying ;-)

((hands Ron a bic)) there ya go, perfection is attained!!

We are not going to answer your question, Espencer, I recommend you move on.
