However, if a thread is started to publicly flay any or all of us, don't expect it to be taken kindly.
Which begs the question of how kindly we members don't take it when WE are publicly "made sport of". Some contributors here have, in the past, been very good at making their digs right under the radar screen. They have their "favorites" to haunt, and they know just how far to go, or so they think, without incurring any red ink themselves. But, just as this thread seems unpleasant, so do those jibes, and they aren't at all in character with the recent atmosphere on the board, and I think that the mods are not wanting to see a return to the days of, well, you know... There was no earthly reason for this thread, other than to antagonize people who were already being baited on the original thread. Too bad, didn't work. Take your Machiavellian marbles and go home. I think the mods are wise to it, and they may be less likely to see anyone publicly flayed.
I beleive Kate when she says the thread got deleted accidentally, and maybe it's for the best. We have some "junior handler" age members here, and they need not be subjected to such explicit references on the forum, even though I think the members on that thread probably meant them humorously and not to flaunt or do harm.. Sometimes, a simple reminder, worded in a non-threeatening manner, in someone's PM box goes a long way. I don't know if that was done, but IMO, it's worth it out of respect to normally well behaved members who just get going a little too vociferously on a given thread, so that they have the opportunity to think twice before they continue posting in a manner that is unacceptable to the mods. JMHO FWIW That way, no one has to wonder why they got suspended once it happens.
