    kle's girl

can I just say...that the people trying to convince this person NOT to spay are irking me greatly. Like she NEEDS an intact bitch with that "kennel;' set up she has right now! Can we say "oops" post in about six months? *headdesk*

I was most "impressed" by whoever it was who said to keep her intact so that she could be bred for agility stars later, without performing in a confo ring.  I fully support breeding for function, provided health testing is done, and I know most hunters and farmers do this and to them the confo world can go pound sand....however....this is different to me.

ETA:  I also would have hoped that, as a breeder, Bonita would have said something other than (paraphrasing) "you can't spay her because she's just too pretty".  We all think our dogs are gorgeous.

Oh goodness I've missed this thread - kle with the stray dogs that are constantly in her yard is thinking of not spaying with Joker intact too.................. UGH, UGH, UGH

She's also getting an intact IS male to show in the next few weeks, Karen.

my question is WHO is giving her these dogs? LOL. I would not place a pup into that situation...just too much going on....it's really amazing to me the different filters folks can have when it comes to placing dogs. Half of me...the mean half...okay that's more like three-quarters....is thinking that the IS woman just wants  pigeon to pay the entry fees on a dog she isn't sure about. kle said she's the only one showing IS out there and if she's only showing against her own dogs...must be nice!

That raises a question for me Gina.  Kle mentioned in that thread something about one of this breeder's puppies picking up 5 points.  That's a major...how did the dog get a 5 pt major if the breeder is the only one showing them there?  Lani's Logan had to beat a BUNCH of dogs when he got HIS 5 pt major...

OK I tried to avoid this in my previous post but living in the south has raised my awareness of dog craziness. I see too much of this sort of thing to not have an understanding of how uncool it all is.  But let's face it there are more than a handful of crazies (LOL) on this forum.

What I am trying to figure out is how in another thread she said money is no object with regard to feeding all these dogs - this from the same person that  only has unusable heaps instead of cars?  Something is very very strange here.

    Must run be back later

That's all point schedule Kate...here in the USA you have to defeat a certain number of dogs of the same sex...to ge a major...it also varies region of the USA to region. I think in her region it is 5 or 7 males for a 3pt major...which is pretty reasonable compared to other sporting breeds like Labs where it's more like 20something. 5 pts could have meant total in the show....3 one day 2 another...or if it was a 3 day show 1 one day 2 another 2 the last etc.

But there's a Beagler here that brings I kid you not...6-10 hounds all of her breeding...to a show she thinks others won't be at to make her own majors/pts. The running joke among the rest is "we like to show up and take the points away from her"...her dogs are okay...but not that good...ya know~ lol But she finishes MANY Ch's every year due to her formula.

I dunno if I read the therad about the pts...

Something smells off tho, to me...I have thought about asking her for her breeders kennel name but I doubt she'd give it up, tho I did get the info for her Vizsla (sp?)...

Ahh, ok thanks.  We have a different system here so I'm not all that clued up LOL.  I agree that something is fishy, she went from wanting an IS pup to suddenly getting a viszla (although I believe she got Joker several days before she said she did) and now she's getting an IS from someone who knows she has an intact bitch and another male puppy in the house, plus 2 more dogs besides.  And all of that was AFTER her partner forbade her from getting even one more dog.  Maybe it's just my situation but the breeder I am hopefully getting a maremma from made sure DH was on board with it too.  *shrug* I dunno, maybe it's all just a culture/environment I don't understand.

IMHO, she posted because she wanted to be talked out of spaying Lillie.  She's slipped into several threads the comment that Lillie doesn't want to show and the first one of those was months ago.  If she'd been convinced of it, Lillie would be spayed by now.

I can't see the harm in asking her for the IS breeder's name, something IS weird about all of this.

    • Gold Top Dog

I asked her, we'll see if she tries to weasel out of telling me. I found one breeder in the area with a website...wonder if it's that one.

I don't know Vizsla's very well but Joker seems like a big boy to me, I always thought they were a medium sized more elegant type...but like I said...no idea on that breed.

    • Gold Top Dog

I've only ever met one and he was small for a Vizsla due to some puppy illness, so I'm no judge of that either.

Be interesting to see if it was that breeder....what were your first impressions?

    • Gold Top Dog

OK, this is SO iritating to me I cannot form the words. (That Sowilu and her bazillion "PUDDING" threads are also hopscotching on my last nerve ;)

I say we can shame her into spaying the bitch....  and i'm about to attack.

If her IS (bitch) is SQ I'll eat Kate's foot.

Onto gettng the puppy, i agree with you Gina... i think there is something strange going on with these breeders giving her puppies, "SQ" pups at that.... i had to jump through hoops to get Logan, and I expect any of my puppy buyers to do the same. Some person showing up with 4 dogs and an intact bitch she's not showing...... well, there would be none of my pups going there.

Not to mention the expense.  Showing 2 dogs, traveling (cause we all know there aren't gonna be 10 shows a year anywhere near her) ... how is she gonna get there?  Food for 5 dogs? What is she feeding?

(((I feel like Nik now, she's been in a grouchy mood this morning, making Logan pay for all the wrongs in her life.... it's funny for me to watch. he just takes it and sits there trying to stay out of her way.  ((giggle))  Poor boy-dog.)

    • Gold Top Dog

Belvedere's Irish Setters, they seem on the up and up from what I can see...no website but their dogs are shown, they have 2 dogs in the database at OFA...but she said they're new and only been in the breed 7 years as breeders so that could explain that. Wonder if this is their first litter? Interesting choice of placement...lol.

    • Gold Top Dog

I posted... i tried to water it down.. and it took much, much editing to get what i finally posted :)  Whew.  I wanna crack AgileGSD upside the head.

And Bonita, I wanna ask how she feels Lillie stacks up against the standard, since she's insisting that Lillie is too pretty to spay.

You know Nikki's really pretty too, damn, I shouldn't have spayed her....

    • Gold Top Dog

they have 3 males they kept? ... that is also interesting.
