Poll? Block function.

I THINK you have to invite them as a friend and have them accpet befor eyou can block them, but I could be wrong.

I am not sure what it blocks them from, as I don't want to block the people from my friends list from doing anything....

that seems like an odd way to block someone... invite them to be a friend and then block them.

I would use one if we had it...

On another forum i'm on the admin use the ignore feature as a gauge on who's causing trouble and if a particular person is blocked enough times by other members they can be banned! Totally unfair, because a group of people could get together and block someone just out of spite to get them kicked off!

I've never used a block/ignore option,i guess i dont let words on a screen get to me that much... Besides i'de be too curious and be forever unblocking them to see what they've written!

Usually I don't care but there have been times recently I've wanted it, mainly to prevent me from reading really asinine things, bursting out laughing causing me to spit my drink and thus ruin my computer, which would really make me mad.

Where I hang out, I see lots of asinine things (never from you), but bursting out laughing is good for your health, which really pisses off your enemies;-)

Yeah, how long do you think it would take for some people to start "extinguishing" the "clicker goddess"?  I'm sure my post count would go from 12,000, or whatever it really is (lost posts a couple of software changes ago) to 0.  In a New York millisecond...

Yes, but that mental image, with the addition of your canine crew looking up and tilting their heads to one side as if to say "What the heck?" is certainly a bonus for me.

I thought you were going to say...w/ the addition of her canine crew licking up the spitted out drink...LOL  Now that would be handy.

Frankly a block feature wouldn't make a bit of difference to me.  If there are things that people write that I don't have anything to say about, or don't like (even though I do post, at times) but if it's truly annoying, I just move on.  No big deal.  If I were being harrassed by someone, I would just report them to the appropriate people, and only then, would I possibly want a "block" feature, but otherwise, I don't see what difference one way or another it would make.

And, I believe you would be one of the first on the bandwagon - sometimes, when you think people are out to get you, they really are. Big Smile

What's the Navajo word for cabal?

If I were being harrassed by someone

Sadly that used to happen all the time to a few posters.  The block feature certainly did come in handy then.

It's a reference to what someone here did.

For a time, there was a poster here who seemed to consistently try and "dethrone" Spiritdogs, as if any dethroning needed to be done. And this person had in their sig a navajo quote that could be taken as a slight against others of first american ancestry. Most people here don't recognize or speak navajo, so the point of that sig was to take on Spiritdogs, who is of first american ancestry. Not in the interest of dogs, imo. More in the interest of something else ... truly jmo.

And I believe Spiritdogs was asking a rhetorical question but if you didn't understand the history, I could imagine it to be confusing.

Kind of makes me nervous about accepting any friend requests now....Huh?

Dethrone, I couldn't comment on that!
