A block function would be great. I have a pretty good ignore function in my head though - which comes from years of internet use

 I imagine that those powers that be also have a great ignore function too because no requests seem to be heard to begin with! (who started a thread, and so on)

Now, to be fair, in all likelihood Dog.Com bought this forum software, and therefore had/has little to no control over the actual coding of how things work. So if a feature isn't built in to the forum software, it's going to be *really* hard for them to add/change it.

I would definitely use a block feature.

I would bet, that a lot of us would block the same person.  Maybe we should do a poll on who we would block....

 I thought of that too, but then I thought, hey maybe loads of people would block ME and I'd rather not know that!

True, but most of these applications come with a block feature.  Well, not that there aren't many other things wrong with this particular one...I suppose it's possible it has no block function... 

 on your profile under manage friends, there is a tab for blocked users. not sure how to add people to this or what exactly it blocks them from. anyone?

I have never used the block feature other than on usenet.  The only reason I use it on usenet is because there are people who, believe it or not, spam.  I don't block people just for being an idiot.

I THINK you have to invite them as a friend and have them accpet befor eyou can block them, but I could be wrong.

I am not sure what it blocks them from, as I don't want to block the people from my friends list from doing anything....
