does anyone know what we will eventually do with the  "points"???

I don't think so... It's a corporate secret. On another board I know that has points, they can be used to buy different avatar background colors, more "room" in your inbox,  titles in your avatar space, and your upload limit (for pictures), but I'm not sure those apply here...

Each one of your points have been addressed in other threads.  If the forum had a good search function, then the answers would be at your fingertips.

Ranking is just hovering your pointer over the stars and picking how many you want to give...then click on and you've rated the post/picture/blog/etc.

What creates the stars to begin with?  I figured that the original poster probably created the bar with stars, but I haven't found a way to do that.

I can see stars on the pictures, but I don't see the stars to rate a post. Do I have to go to there profile page a search their posts or can it be done from this page? I know, I know, I am such a dumba** when it comes to computer crap. I'm sure webpages are designed so anyone with half a brain could figure them out - I guess that's the half I'm missing LOL.

I must be thick too.  Not all the posts have stars, so how do you rate a post that hasnt been rated yet?  and what happens if no one likes it? It doesnt make sense for the OP to rate their own post..... at least, i dont think so.

I don't think you can rate individual posts, only threads (blogs and pictures, too apparently).

Yes the rating feature is for threads...not each individual response or comment. The stars are right at the top near the notification/change view box. You must be viewing a thread to rate it.
