Recruiting efforts to leave this forum?????

I have to be honest and say that any talk of penalising members who left when things got tough makes me very uneasy.  Many people understandably just want a fun, lighthearted internet experience and will go wherever that is offered to them.  It is no secret that that this forum has had its share of problems and maybe there are those who would prefer not to be exposed to that.  I will blame no one for feeling that way, because at the end of the day no one is making us be here and we can all devote as much or as little time to this forum as we wish.  That is the beauty of choices.

This is not the only forum I am a member of, so my only "duty" if you will is to be loyal to each in their turn for the place they hold in my life and the purposes they serve for me, which are not all the same.  I would be VERY offended if anyone called my loyalty into question simply because someone else might be more so.  If a bunch of cr*ap goes down on this forum and I am not here to try to douse the flames because something in my life prevents me from that, am I disloyal?  Who is the judge of who is a loyal member and who is not?

"Punishment", within the bounds of what can be handed out on this forum, will as far as I am aware only EVER be used for offenses on this forum or directly relating to it.  I would be very unhappy with using those tools on anyone who went in search of a forum experience that was better suited to them.

Honestly no one voiced anything over there they hadn't said over here.  It was mainly observing the changes in the forum layout and such and that some of us didn't know where the old forum had gone to.

I never saw any specific person mentioned in public in association with this forum.

Honestly, on Chaz we don't sit around and bash idog or whatever this forum is called nowadays.  (I honestly don't know the right name).

In fact, I think it was only mentioned once by name and that was in a 'what other forums do you visit' thread.

I'll back up Lauren on this.  NOTHING was said on Chaz that hasn't been said directly to an Admin already.  Just relax about it.

Ah Ha, the admission!  Did you ever hear of the saying that what take place in house stays in house.  Thats how families operate.  By the public bashing in the other forum, how many new members were steered away from here.  How many people did not received the best dog advise available on the internet?  By bad mouthing this forum on the other forum, don't you take responsibility for causing harm here?

Thank you Kate for always being the voice of reason. The complaints on this thread, are, IMO absolutely childish.. actually asinine is more like it.  It seems to me that some people are just trying to create problems and gaps between members.  Should they truly wish to make this forum a better place, perhaps they can find better ways of spending their time than posting on this thread constantly complaining.

There has to be some punishment for those that abandoned and refused to work things out.

what is the want or need for punishment? some people left, some people post on more than one forum, big fat hairy deal. where is the crime? how exactly do you punish someone who refuses to post here any more?

seems like some juvenile vendetta to me.

I never bad mouthed this forum on chaz at all, so I don't know what you're talking about.  Simply saying 'I also visit idog but have not been on there as much lately because of all that is going on' is NOT bad mouthing this forum at all.  I never went into specifics nor did any other posters there.

Geeze, guys, take a chill pill.  Gol, there was a member who got banned and slapped us silly in his blog....stuff happens.

Again, if you are receiving unsolicited pm's or emails urging you to leave idog, and it BOTHERS you, forward them to one of us and we'll discuss what to do.

Oh wait I also said I was confused about the change of address because it never forwarded on my link.

     I guess that's also bad-mouthing.

Since when did belonging to forums make you a member of some secret society?

Surely...surely, the biggest and best way to be loyal to this forum is to view our recent change as a brand new and fresh start.

Glad to hear you are innocent in this matter.  The posts are there go look at them.

I've searched you and idog on there and haven't come up with anything bad.  If there's a specific post that's a problem why not pm the person that made it?

People mentioned this forum on another.  Big deal.

Benedict, we had a rough start with the new forum.  Things are changing in a positive direction and it was mostly done by the loyal members and that most definitely includes you.  The loyal members are at the stage of exploring and understanding how to use the new features.  There seems to be so much more to explore.  Now, look who were the biggest complainers.  It all makes sense as what they were up to.

Okay, honestly, why the witch hunt?

And it's silly to describe people as 'loyal' or 'unloyal' members.  It's an ONLINE FORUM.

Mmkay... I'm not sure why this is an issue, but okay.  I lurk on Chaz and I can concur that nothing nasty was said.

Up to?  I have yet to see where anyone was up to anything.

Once again, as Glenda, Gina and I have said:  Anyone bothered because they are getting UNSOLICITED emails for ANY purpose should report them to mods or admins.  It's what we're here for.  The same goes for any other problem.

Have the software issues of the past few days and any other types of issue from before that not been enough?  Why create problems where there are none?
