I could tell just from reading the original post that was going to fall apart... I'm surprised it took a whole page for the flaming to kick in.

    Self evident IMO!!!!!  good grief.

    *sigh....

These types of threads lately are why I rarely start my own threads.... I just lurk a lot and post to the NDR ones mostly, only because I know I'm not the "perfect" dog owner according to dog.com but I don't care if people "approve" or not

Irregardless of what's "right" or "wrong" a long-time member coming back and saying, hey, here's what 's been happening in my life... and then being torn apart.... well, I wouldn't fault her for leaving.  Maybe she didn't make the best choice according to everyone here, but she made it, and had her reasons and will try to make it work.

anyway......  It was almost good to see it locked rather than continued.

yeah... i'm kinda sad i didnt get to say hi (or bye) though..[&:]

Sigh! I wish people would just forward the script. I mean, if you just tell me what you would like me to say I will happily reproduce it for you.  No skin off my nose.

I only read the first 2 pages. From what I read everyone was sympathetic to the situation and only wanted to offer some help. But like I said, I only read the first 2 pages - I tend to have ADD when it comes to multi page threads ;p

IMO, things started off nicely and then went South a bit after that..... so you could have just missed the excitement.

And, It's not that everyone should ignore what someone is doing if you think there is a better way, but if the OP states she doesn't want to hear it, or she knows the downfalls but is doing it anyway, or she is looking for advice on something related but different and offers that as background only, then I feel that should be respected and not have a ton of folks jump down her throat.  That's all I'm saying.

I'm going back into my shell now, staying away from the debated threads for the most part...........

That's the problem with arguing with people over the internet. There's just no winning. People have their opinions and that's it. If someone says, thanks but no thanks then that should be the end of it....you tried, the person isn't interested, end of discussion.

I would guess it's locked b/c it's hopelessly off topic.

I missed the ENTIRE thread. I went back and read it, not the entire thing, but I caught the gist of the "congrats, nice to see you back"s, and I caught the advice, and I caught the judgments.

Sure, she posted it on a public forum, but the judgements made are harsher than anything Ratsicles deserved, IMO.

I think she's proven that if something happens with her dogs, she is willing and ABLE to figure out how to make it work out.

IMO, she was kind enough to come here and update us on her life and, through the issues she's having, was happy with her new house and wanted to share.

It's not like she's having issues with her dog and is going, "OMG, Ogre killed chickens, oh well, I don't know what to do so I'm just going accept the fact that he killed chickens and let him around them still"

I have NO IDEA why some people here think they are holier than thou and think they have the right to harshly judge someone when EVERYONE makes mistakes.

I made one with my dog. Hell, I made TWO very horrible mistakes to the CORE with my dog, but I am STILL a responsible owner. I may not know exactly HOW to make my dog tick, but I'm willing to learn and I'm making it work. And that is what I feel Ratsicles is doing as well.
It's a shame that she is leaving.
    A DAMN shame.

I wish the people here who claim that have perfect dogs (maybe not directly but their judgements speak louder than just coming out and saying it) and perfect relationships with their dogs and claim they are perfect dog communicators/readers, would get the heck over themselves. No one is perfect. Leave your judgements for your OWN MIND and realize that someone is working on getting just AS PERFECT AS YOU ARE. JEEZ.

Gina (rwbeagles) had the right idea in that thread, she gave advice and offered support. We ALL KNOW that Ratsicles has worked some brave wonders with dogs and is MORE THAN willing to continue working with her dogs.

I think one thing that has escaped a lot of people is the fact that she is very young, 19 or 20, to be exact, and has taken on a boat load of stuff......imo, she is overwhelmed......and now it has spun out of control......all I can say is that when I was 19 there was no way that I would have loaded myself up with all that responsibility........

I don't think that's for us to judge.
Especially since none of us know her on a personal level other than what she posts on this board.

If she feels overwhelmed, I trust that she knows herself well enough that she'll do what she needs to do to handle it. Whatever that may be. I have no other choice to trust her because it's not for ME to NOT trust her with her own life decisions.

    I respect your opinion.

I only post my opinion based on her posts that she made public....as a matter of fact, in the very beginning she posted problems with Pepito.....so, this has been an on going situation, problems with her pets and adding pets to a troubled situation.........there is a name for this........
