I agree.
I would like to add that I don't really understand how people cannot draw the line between friendly relationships based on a common interest (dogs) vs. personal relationships that lead to drama with people you've never even met.

I have managed to be a member of this forum for over a year, keep a healthy relationship with participants of the board (as far as I know) and not become personally involved with anyone yet stay friendly and helpful. I guess Im glad that Im lucky that I've managed to maintain this netural yet participatory relationship with the board.

Im sorry that this has come to this with Jean and the general feel of the board recently.

Doesn't anyone realize that the longer this nonsense goes on, the more likely Kelly is to REALLY do away with all sigs, avatars, etc? She doesn't make threats on a whim. Can't you all just let this lie?

I like the sigs and avtars if they are dog related. Otherwise I really don't give a poop. I don't look at clickable links unless it's a dog related link that I specifically asked about. I just have no interest in stuff not dog related on this forum. I have been here a year but would fail a quiz if given one, on the members here. I can probably name 3 or 4 at best and that's by their handle not their real name. I chimed in just to say i like the sigs regardless of what they are about. I especially like the pics of dogs.

I really hope that dog.com realizes that we are customers of theirs and treats us as such instead of with this attitude that they are doing US a favor.

Does anyone REALLY think that veiled threats of economic loss are going to be effective? This forum probably costs a heck of a lot more than they make from members.......I'm sorry, but while this forum does make good sense for dog.com marketing wise, well, they ARE doing us a favor

They wouldn't have it here if it wasn't making them money Glenda. And, it's not just about members buying from them. People go to their site, buy something, happen across the forum, like it and stick around to then buy something from them again. It keeps their customers around for them too.
They aren't keeping this forum up and having their paid employees monitor it as a favor to anyone. Maybe they'd like people to believe that but. . .
And, I wasn't threatening anyone. And, really why make such a comment.

Glenda...following this closely,, is there really any threats of any kind here? Of economic or any kind of loss? I don't remember seeing them.
There are tons of forums to join,,,any that I have looked into are all free. And yes...tons of dog forums. Look how many are on Yahoo alone!
That doesn't mean that we don't appreciate this one,,its not against this one...its just a simple truth.

Jeano and the_gopher, I am very sorry to see either of you leave. I will miss both of you. I sincerely hope you are just taking sabbaticals.

I apologize for the posts on this thread that were mean-spirited, melodramatic, mocking, taunting, childish, and/or less than Christian. Everyone has the right to say goodbye if they wish without that kind of thing.

I frankly don't care what people post elsewhere. I care about what they post here on i-dog. I certainly don't take other people's frustrations personally, even when they get upset with me. If I consider my actions or words to be inappropriate, I will apologize. Otherwise, it is their problem and I will not internalize it.

I would appreciate it if the mods would close this thread. Business links could be discussed on a different thread. This one needs to die!!

Janet, I have gotten several people angry at me for closing threads and stifling their discussions...I no longer do so if I can possibly avoid it. Again...one thing one day...a different thing another day. I am tired of it, yes....I might close the thread, yes....or Kelly might, yes...

But the mature thing is for the membership to allow it to slip down the page and move on. The mature thing is for the membership to demonstrate the ability they claim to have...to move on and self moderate, instead of being dictated to by moderators.
