I'd like to know which "Christians" you're calling out in this thread. I made a couple of posts to Jean asking her to look at her reasons for posting a message such as this and asking her to consider that there might be more empowering ways for her to transform her hurt in this situation. I was direct in my comments, and I clearly owned what was mine in those statements. I stated how her post occurred to me...and did NOT cast judgment on who she is as a person. I asked her to simply look and see if there was an opportunity for her to ask for what she needed.

This is what the LORD says:

     ask for the ancient paths,
     ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
     and you will find rest for your souls.
     But you said, 'We will not walk in it.'

If that's the case, then why do you assume that any of us were directing our comments at you?

Because I am a Christian, and I made a couple of posts in this thread that were direct, though not judgmental, and wanted to know if my intent had been misconstrued. I am careful in choosing my words, and yet I was pretty irritated by the time I made those comments. So, I felt the need to ask for clarification by the three of you who were offended by comments by "Christians" to see if there was something that I needed to clear up with you.

I was offended at the treatment that jeano received publicly, which was, IMO, less than Christian. In deference to Gina's request, that is all I am prepared to say.

It is possible I'm very dense but I saw an opinion that was stated without personal attack or name calling.

My point was that whatever link on a back page of Jean's blog allows donations to help animals was but a splinter compared to the telephone pole size log that was allowing bybs and millers to advertise and that Glenda's MS Walk is popular and supported and I think it should be supported here. It is a non-profit charity to fight a slow, painful, fatal disease. And I've offended two people. A mod and another member.

Well, I don't find this to be "catty commentary" but a discussion toward clarification. Since you haven't stated that anything in my post bothered you specifically, I'll just assume that my comments didn't, and that your beef about jeano receiving "unchristian treatment" has to do with comments made by others.

(I do want to point out that Jesus himself had some very harsh truths for people at times - his tone was not always the loving, "meek and mild" stance...though his words were always stated with great love and geared toward helping others transform ways of being that were not serving them.)

I will consider this subject dropped.

In the business section will there be strict requirements? Maybe be having the links cleared suitable for the forum before being posted publicly. That way there will be no spam and back yard breeder link.

I kinda like the idea of maybe having a Charity section.

Seems reasonable then to make the requirements two-fold...post count AND time on the forum. I'd prefer the time be 6 months...and within that the post count of 50 is fine.

Just a suggestion and since hurt feelings have caused so much raucous lately, why not grandfather everyone in at the time the business section is created. Start the clock for newcomers at the same time with your rules of post count and time.

I actually agreee with you, but my point was that I thought you'd expressed yourself poliltely and didn't understand the request for an apology based on that post.

I am very sorry to see you go Jean. I am very, very sad to see some of the hateful, nasty, mean spirited comments posted on this thread. I just spent the past few days with 7 teenagers who have more maturity than what has been expressed in some of the posts here.

Personally, I think you should just tell whoever is bothering you to shove it and become good friends with the block button.

However, if you still feel the you need to leave I will respect that----Sally, Jack, and I will miss you and your pups! Hopefully I'll bump into you somewhere else on the web....

Wow. The forum has changed so much.

I always enjoyed reading your posts, Jean. It's always sad to see a longtime member go. Best wishes with whatever you decide to do. Give Sofia and Ole some belly rubs from me.

Goodby Jeano. I will miss hearing your stories about your pups.

Also, I will miss everyone else's story here as well, as I'm leaving. This thread has given me the final reasons why this forum is a waste of my time. The comments here are beyond rude. I belong to other forums in which this clicky attitude is not present and the attitude is more welcoming and inviting. No, I do not take anything personally here, but why should I want to come to a forum in which I have to weave through the nastiness.

There's a lot of good people here, and I haven't been a member long, but you can sure bet I won't be a member any longer nor recommend this place to anyone.

THIS is the kind of thing that would make someone like the last poster ( the_gopher ) leave.
WHY is that some of you people are so mean? Why do you feel that you must make these sickening comments?
Don't you understand the people that are getting hurt and saying goodbye are the people that SHOULD BE STAYING?
gopher,,I'm sorry about you too! Your right,,,there are a lot of good people on this forum,,,it just than not a lot of them showed up on this thread! This is just sick!
