    HSUS aides in evacuations ahead of Gustav

     The HSUS Aids in Evacuation in Advance of Gustav. They've had teams on hand, aiding in evacuations and/or care of animals in need. It looks like, thanks to organizations working together, that most animals have been evacuated ahead of the storm.

    I don't know how valid the figures are but I saw where HSUS collected more than 35 million to help with Katrina evacuees' pets and they did a terrible job and the money went for their  own agenda.  Most of the true help came from small local shelter and rescue groups.

    As you may be able to tell I am not a fan of HSUS and believe they are in bed with PETA.

    They aided in evacuations of all animals EXCEPT pit bulls.  There was some heat about this in the press a day or two ago.

    so many better ways to spend one's money than lining the coffers of an AR lead and PeTA/ALF stocked organization, IMO.
