WOO HOO!!! There was so much opposition to this bill, it will not be back to haunt us until next year! I have already contacted an assemblywoman in my area about this matter, and you better believe I am keeping in close contact with her for when it's scheduled to come up next year ... To any breeder in NY - this is a short term victory. Please contact our state legislators and express your continued opposition of A11509.

Subject: [petlaw] New York - A11509 is PULLED!!
THANK YOU to everyone who jumped on the New York A11509 opposition so
quickly!! This bill will NOT be addressed at tomorrow's State Agriculture
Committee meeting.
Government Affairs specialists in Albany have informed the Pet Industry
Joint Advisory Council (PIJAC), the Farm Bureau and others who opposed the bill
that, because of the strong opposition received, A11509 will be HELD for this
session.
This bill would dramatically change the pet dealer definition, impacting
every home-based cat and dog breeder in the State. It could come back next
year but we will be ready. It will not be considered this year.
Once again our voices have been heard by the lawmakers !
Please forward.
