This is APPALLING !!!!    How can an intelligent elected official think this would go unnoticed???    People will never cease to amaze me. Th Idiots that turn cats loose near a farm or drop dogs off on a country road all deserve the same fates.  I hope the town pays attention to this man's deed and then investigates the rest of his actions closely this is not the first shortcut he has taken to be sure!

As horrible as it is, I have to admit this quote make me think

 "We're caught in a Catch 22," he said. "If we continued to do what we were doing, we'd be bad. If we let them go, we're wrong for that as well. But the storyline would have read, if I had euthanized them, 'Mayor Kills All of the Dogs in the City.'"

Of course, his actions are wrong. But this quote is quite accurate, and just makes me sad about the entire issue of strays/overpopulation in that area..... 

So the plan is to stop them from being strays in one place by causing them to be strays in another?  Interesting.......

Any one else thinking about the morons who rounded up the homeless in several large cities then bussed them to smaller more rural areas??

Sometimes I just hate the political process....  As far as the Catch 22 phrase it is one used by every incompetant can't think outside the box idiot since the book was written !  Here is one more thought, how about the importation of strays from other countries and islands nations because some one was touched by them on vacation .... How the Heck do we justify importing Strays ?????

Well, that's just great.  This made me so angry I gave myself a migraine!  I would hope that federal authorities could sanction this idiot of a mayor for committing such an act!  It's been a long time since I wanted to throttle someone, but I really want to throttle that guy!

 " Lets seeeeeeee... our choices are.... keep these dogs in unsanitary cages in our little podunk facility or... humanely put them to sleep.... oooooorrrrr release them into the wild so they can damage the local ecosystem, still possibly starve to death while also posing a threat to society at the same time... hmmmmm? thats a tough decision to make! which one will make me look less like the bad guy here?"
 

that guy is an idiot..... and so if the moron that opened those cages to let them out! have we ALL lost our ability to NOT do something we're told because its the WRONG THING TO DO?!?!?!

The National Forest Service requested that NAFA help in finding and rescuing the dogs that were abandoned by the city.  Northeast Arkansans for Animals (NAFA) is a small group of volunteers in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  They have no paid employees and receive no local, state or federal funding.

However, that has not deterred them from taking on the monumental task of helping the dogs so carelessly and illegally dumped by the Mayor of Helena on the St. Francis National Forest>>>>>

I wish the natl forest service would do more than that!
