    Hey Guys I got this via email today and would really like everyone that is disgusted by this to sign the petition I sure as BEEP did Thank You!  

    In the 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, he tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death.

    For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until the dog eventually died.

     Does it look like art to you?

    But this is not all ... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

    That is very sick, and it made me very sad. I can't believe people watched this poor dog suffer each day until it finally died and no one did a damn thing about it! I signed the petition, but why is it that when a normal person does this its called ANIMAL CRUELTY, but an artist does it and he calls it art so that's ok??? seriously?!!

     How the BEEP is that art?!?!?!?!  That is not even close to art.  Art would be the power that an animal has to survive against all odds.  When food is scarce, many animals find a way.  They adapt to their surroundings.  That "art" has been taken from this animal.  He has to sit alone and die while all of those people watch and say "what a beautiful piece of "art."  I would think the gallery should be responsible as well.

         What my mind absolutely cannot get a grasp around is that fact that none of the intellectuals viewing this disgusting "exhibit" ever learned the word "sadist" in school? It didn't occur to anyone to cut that dog loose? This world is going to Hell in a handbasket. Absolutely sickening ...

    I'm glad someone posted this.  I was going to today, as it showed up in an email from a friend.  This can't be allowed to happen a second time, it's incredibly sick.

    i cant believe it happened a FIRST time!! dont we see enough starving dogs on Animal Planet? Dont these "artists" also get a severe punishment for it?

    Well I would have been going to jail for dog napping. There is no way I could have walked into that building saw that dog like that and done nothing about it. If I couldnt get it out of there my butt would be coming back with some food and water stashed in my "diaper" bag.

    this scum bag claims people are being hypocritical because dogs are starving all the time in his native country... and no one seems to care. but when THIS one died everyone is pissed off and going after him with pitch forks... and rightly so!!!

    But what shocks me the most is that so many people were there, watching that poor animal suffer and no one decided to help him... No one...

     a hunter in another forum said "Lets chain him to the wall and watch him starve to death next time" ... where is that petition? i'll sign it!!

    this "Artist" said he was making a point to represent all the starving wild dogs in his country that everyone ignores, and this one is stiring up a lot of hypocrisy..... BS! what ever happened to photographing the trials of life? now we capture them and put them on display?

    will the zoos be putting the zebra into the lion cages now?
