I posted the original email in General yesterday. To bring you up to date. Jackie was very active in rescue transport. She passed away Saturday night. She left 3 dogs. It looks like 2 of them have been placed, still need a home for one. They are in the Chicago area if anyone can help the information is in the posted below.
Jackie died primarily from complications of Diabetes along with various other medical conditions she had. Her approximate time of death is about 2pm Saturday. I know she did a short transport for someone Saturday morning.
Anyway, the family may keep the ten year old sheepdog mix, but not Coco who, by the way is much calmer without my Landseer Newf., Carmen around they say.
They are planning for a memorial service to be held hopefully NEXT Saturday (the 26th). More on that as they figure that all out.
Now what I need help with, is finding a place for Coco and Bear for the next 3 days (till the weekend at least) in boarding that is reasonably priced and help to pay for it. Jackie's son, who is handling this a little bit hard, can't find ANY of her paperwork, (aka wills, insurance papers, etc.). The dogs are being kept outside while people go through everything and after tomorrow, he must return to work Thursday and Friday.
Jackie lived in Forest Park of Chicago, and her son lives in Lansing, IL (nearby).
Can anyone help me find a place for them to stash the dogs for the remainder of the week?
Can anyone help pay for it once we find that place?
Can anyone help with Coco (photo forthcoming) long term?
Let me know asap.
Thanks!
Donna

Subject: Update on Jackie Patterson
Once again, feel free to crosspost....
Jackie died either the night before or during the night Saturday in her bed. She donated her body to research. They are going to make arrangements for a Memorial Service, for probably next week, or a tad further out...but not this week. I will get an address for cards in the next day or so.
My foster mom got photos of the dogs, who were kept outside during the last two days because of all the people coming and going as well as clearing out the house. Carmen is back in our rescue and updated photos and her bio will be put up on our site tomorrow. Coco, the 18 month old shep. mix, is the 'wild child' and Bear (Ben? I forgot already)is the laid back one. ALL are spayed/neutered dogs.
Again, I will post more as I time passes.
