very sad-baby killed by dog.

I read that this morning, so very sad. I had a hard time with some of the comments made in the CJ about this, saying that they only blamed the JRT and that the PB probably did it. Some people just do not get that any dog can do this.

i actually got into a hardcore argument at work today over this. someone said the same thing..."it was probably the pitbull" then it escalated to her saying pit bulls can't be trusted and they ARE different than other dogs. I basically then told her if she was basing her feeling about pit bulls on a few bad cases, then it's the same thing as  being racist.

plus, umm...dont people realize that jrts and pits have SIGNIFICANTLY different jaw/teeth size?! people kill me

I need to start watching the news I guess. I heard about the jack russell and the baby but I heard the dog was laying by the baby and accidently smothered it. But the dog attacked the baby?

I feel so bad for that family and the pit bull if it's getting blamed for something it didnt do.
 

 I looked up a bunch of different articles on this and they all said it was an attack.  I found one that quoted the coroners office as to cause of death "The Fayette County Coroner's office said Saturday that the cause of the accidental death was "traumatic asphyxia and blood loss due to dog attack."

Of course I saw all kinds of things saying that the pit bull must have really done it, blah, blah--but the pits the family owned appeared (from what I have read) to be outside dogs.

This is just so horrific for everyone involved.  They said that the dog had always been great with kids.  I guess he was in the room alone with the baby when the attack happened. 

What a shame?  Wonder where the baby was sleeping??  I guess not in a crib.  How sad, feel so bad for the family.

So, now are they going to ban Jack Russells?  Or, was it the influence of the Pitbull that made him do it??

 That's sad.  Next thing ya know, ALL dogs will be banned.
