MICHAEL VICK SENTENCE FAIR?: “Animal cruelty”

Anybody heard the Barber Shop show last night ( Tiki and Ronde)on Sirius radio? The matter was old about Michael Vick 23-month jail imprisonment for “animal cruelty” as what other people utter for being the instigator of illegal dog fight and animal cruelty. They were giving their views about it if it’sa fair conviction or not.   What you think, was the conviction fair or not? Some people say that it’s a fair conviction though some utter that is not fair (it’s too much) some say that the amount of punishment is just little for the deeds that he committed. In my own point of view, I really can’t tell if the conviction was fair or not, I agree that his deeds has been sensationalized and his punishment vastly exceeds his deeds but I also agree that it was a fair conviction and the amount of punishment is just little for his actions (I’m not being bias here) it’s just a point of view of being a dog breeder and justice seeker. The issue of  the Falcons’ star Michael Vick was being sensationalized huh. ( poor Michael Vick) lol.  **content removed, advertising**

As a pit bull advocate I'm having a hard time not letting my emotions get in they way with this topic. I believe he needs to be a example to the nation of what will ahppen if you abuse animals.....or even better if you as so much participate or know about what is going on. Plus we have the whole NFL supersttar aspect of it, a lot of people are tired of these role models acting like hooligans and getting off. Like Micheal Irving and the drugs and so on and so forth. Underpriviliged kids who dont know better dont pay attention to things like jail time or responibility , all they hear is that their idol is fighting dogs, doing drugs or steriods.

i think there should be a LAW against lawyers pulling for a lighter sentence.

it just should be cut dried and absolute.

You do THIS and you will get THAT. and no exceptions to the rules!!!

so what if he's sorry and wants to improve? he can improve AFTER he gets out of prison!!

Umm, this is a contradiction isn't it?

FOr anyone else, I'd say it was "fair" (as fair as you CAN be within the law... gah.)  I think he should have a tougher sentence because of who he is.  Animal cruelty seems to be on the rise and anyway to impress on folks that CRUELTY IS NOT OKAY is good in my book, even if that means making an example of a popular and talented sports personality.
