Anyone heard of this?

The following i received in a Myspace bulletin .. dont know how much truth there is to it, but thought i should show it off anyway:

Dear Dog Lover,
> I am sorry to take advantage of having your e-mail,
> but this is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT in so many ways.
> Please take the time to read this. There should be
> two attachments, a sample letter, which I will be
> sending myself, and a list of all the Commissioners,
> and the County Manager and Mayor. Please fax your
> letter to them all ! Please DO NOT SEND E-MAIL. We
> need to FLOOD them with paper!!! Get all your
> friends and family to send letters. You can cut and
> paste and use as much of my sample letter as you
> like.
>
> Please cross post this everywhere to everyone.
> Please take action Monday. So we have a really
> strong impact!!!
>
> Are you aware that the County is currently proposing
> a re-written Chapter 5, which is the governing
> document over dog ownership in Dade County?
> Rewritten by them. If you are in Broward or Monroe
> please write and instead of being a tax payer of
> Dade County, just be a dog lover.
>
> Are you aware that you are supporting a death camp
> for dogs, and that animal control is not required to
> provide any other service for your license fee
> dollars? In fact the new Chapter 5 shortens the time
> that any animal will be kept at animal control.
>
> The new Chapter 5 puts the entire burden of
> financing the doggie death camp on dog lovers. Cat
> owners have no requirements for license fees. You
> love dogs, you follow the rules, you get to pay for
> killing the "other" doggies oh and the kitties too.
>
> The new Chapter 5 does not require Animal Control to
> try to locate an owner for a "found" dog. They can
> put the dog to sleep regardless.
>
> The new Chapter 5 increases the fee for turning over
> your dog. WHAT, are people paying now? Who are all
> the dumped dogs?
>
> The new Chapter 5 does not require any hold time
> before euthanizing an owner turned over dog. The dog
> might be a great dog who is victim of terrible
> circumstances or stupid people. Doesn't matter. To
> bad so sad.
>
> The new Chapter 5 makes owners of rental properties
> responsible for the dogs of their renters. NOW WHO
> WILL RENT TO DOG OWNERS??
>
> The new Chapter 5 does nothing to the guy who sells
> dogs on the side of the road.
>
> The new Chapter 5 allows only 4 dogs no matter who
> you are, where you live, how much property you own,
> unless you want to be treated the same as a "kennel"
> which is a commercial enterprise.
>
> The new Chapter 5 fines Animal cruelty the same
> $500.00 that you get fined for failure to spay or
> neuter an animal. EXCUSE ME, those are equal in
> crime in what way?
>
> The new Chapter 5 still allows absolutely no, not in
> any way shape or form, Pit Bull or Pit Bull like
> dogs.
>
> The new Chapter 5 has no requirements for education
> to create more responsible dog owners in leu of
> punitive fines alone. There is no mandate for
> looking at creative and innovative ways to reduce
> the numbers of dogs at animal control and the number
> being euthanized. There is no mandate for working
> with rescue groups, or dog placements or funding for
> improvements. There is no directive to do anything
> with the money we pay, BUT TO KILL DOGS.
>
> I DONT KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I SUPPORT GETTING THIS
> REWRITE KILLED AND SENT BACK TO COMMITTEE!!
>
> The Proposed Chapter 5 MUST go back to the
> responsible owners of dogs AND cats and the county
> to create a consensus document· A meaningful
> document that will protect and serve, unlike the
> proposed one.
>
> The legislative committee who has been working so
> hard to try to get an reasonable and equitable
> document, acknowledges that there will be no
> reasonable and equitable document· We recommend the
> following:
>
> Everyone write a letter to EVERY County
> Commissioner, and the County Manager, and fax that
> letter, to them. Explain the following:
> 1) You never saw public notice of meetings involving
> Chapter 5, which is a document that governs
> something so important as your relationships with
> dogs.
> Ask why there were no public hearings notices on the
> subject? You feel that you should have input in such
> an important subject.
>
> 2) Since you have been made aware of the proposed
> re-write of Chapter 5, you must request that the
> document be tabled and referred back to a commission
> appointed committee. A committee specifically
> charged with reviewing, updated, and rewriting
> Chapter 5. That the committee can hold public
> meeting and prepare a true consensus document· That
> you refuse to support, and that no commissioner
> should support, legislation that is nothing but
> fees on good dog owners to kill other dogs.
>
> 3) That the proposed Chapter 5 is so fundamentally
> wrong that is must go back to a commissioner
> appointed committee who is knowledgeable on the
> subject, so that they can take public and
> professional input and give serious consideration to
> innovative and model code reform, in keeping with
> Dad County's reputation.
>
> Please lovers of dogs, and MOST IMPORTANTLY if you
> own more than 4 dogs, we MUST get this ordinance
> killed, and then we must work to make real and
> meaningful changes to Dog and Cat ownership in Dad
> County. Please write your letter and fax to the
> county commissioners.
>
> I am happy to e-mail Chapter 5 to anyone who would
> like to have it.
>
> There will be a public hearing on this subject in
> the near future. When you notify you of this, PLEASE
> plan to attend!! NUMBERS MATTER! Dog owners must
> show up in mass!!
>
> Please stand up for our doggies.
