That is awful! I guess its not so surprising though considering how popular these dogs are now. I don't understand why people don't just go to the humane society and pick up one of the many "designer crosses" in need of good homes.

I know of a breeder here in my own town that breeds austrailan shepards and poodles together. And on her website she claims to get as much of 750 dollars for some of them.It makes me sick to think that people are doing this.Because you know how something like this probally started.2 different dog breeds got together accidentally and then when the puppies where born the owners thought they where cute and decided to breed the parents on purpose the next time. It's sad to know people are out there paying these breeders to do this.If I want a "designer" dog which is a mutt to me then I am going to the pound to get one.Shoot I guess you could say I have a designer dog.My Cheyanne is a dalmation lab mix.She is the only survivor out of 13 pups but I guess I got lucky cuz she is nice and healthy.

Salem is Lab / German Shepperd so I guess I could call him a Germador, but I don't think it would catch on, lol.

Hehe.Yeah I should call Cheyanne a dalodor or a labmation but I think dalmation/lab mix will do just fine when people ask me what she is.

    Oh those poor things!

I really dont like this "designer pet" craze at all. There are plenty of "designer pets" in shelters/pounds. Why not get those guys a loving home instead of supporting horrid "I like to call myself a breeder because I force my dogs to have puppies"-people.

Harley is a mix (according to y'all a westiepoo - I prefer the term westie/poodle mix myself as when I see poo... I think of something yucky) who was roaming the streets. I can only imagine if we never found her - she would be in a pound - she could have been put to sleep! (although with her face I would love to say "I doubt it";)

That's an article in the Australian media, and they have their problems down there. There is also State Legislative things happening down there, I heard of some Legislative Bill to stop Pet Shops selling "mammals", and I also heard that another Bill has some clauses that makes it a criminal offence to intentionally or recklessly allow an animal with a specified heritable defect to breed or for selling an animal with a specified heritable defect without first advising the new owner. Also a couple of states down there are seriously making moves for mandatory spay neutering where yet another state already has mandatory spay neutering Laws which was passed some years ago. They also have Legislation banning ear cropping and tail docking. Yes I think that they have their problems and things are happening down there.
